WRUP: Everything but WoW edition

- Adam Holisky (@adamholisky): One of my characters is going to get some lovin', just not sure which one yet.
- Alex Ziebart (@alexziebart): I actually managed to stop playing Mass Effect 2 for awhile. Though, with the Kasumi DLC not too far away... it won't last. I'm back to chaining heroics via the dungeon finder. I need my sweet, sweet Frost Emblems.
- Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey): If all goes well, smacking around the Lich King again. Possibly working on some achievements I'm missing because I'm awfully close to the It's Over Nine Thousand achievement.
- Amy Schley (@wowlawbringer): I should be at the meet and greet Saturday -- look for a "Patent" troll if you want to say hi. I'll also be popping in the Lego Universe beta. Mostly though, my weekend will be sent poring over law books and writing a column about tortious interference in contract. My business torts prof would be amazed that I'm actually studying this stuff without it being assigned.
- Basil Berntsen (@outdps): this weekend, I'm going to try really hard to get into a ICC 10 PUG and drag them through Lady Deathwhisper so I can lose a roll on my trinket. I've been rocking Naxx and crafted trinkets for too long. :\
- C. Christian Moore (@thearenaguy): I've been catching up with some of my old MTG friends (I've been out of the game for almost four years now). I'm interested in playing Vintage, so I'll probably be doing a bit of that over the weekend. Other than that, just some arena and auction house. Raiding is for chumps (no offense, chumps).
- Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb): Meatspace continues to keep me way too busy for my own good, but I'm still trying to make time for my heroics as much as possible. You know, when I'm not on my umpteenth Mass Effect 2 playthrough. I may also knock out another chunk of Dragon Age: Awakenings, but it isn't engaging me as much as I'd hoped. I miss Alistair too much, I think.
- Elizabeth Harper (@faience): After a week of SXSW, catching up on sleep, most likely.
- Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives): I'll be trying to get into FF13, but since it's going to be so nice out, I'll probably drive my new car (arriving tomorrow!) down to the beach.
- Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen): According to the weather reports, it is supposed to be a phenomenally warm and sunny weekend here in Boston (by March standards, at least). So, given that, I will of course be spending most of my time indoors playing WoW and Final Fantasy XIII. My friends will make concerted efforts to draw me into the real world, BUT I SHALL RESIST! It's a beautiful day in the Hinterlands too, you know?
- Gregg Reece: I'm playing with my less than 2 week old baby Lyssa! During one of the breaks, I'll be running ICC with my guild. I'm also hoping to muck around with the StarCraft 2 beta a bit more as I keep getting my butt handed to me by Protoss and Zerg. I think I need to change the order I create a couple of my buildings... either that or just start zerg rushing them back with a whole bunch of plain marines. Oh well. I'm more of an RPG guy than an RTS guy.
- Joe Perez (@Lodurzj): More Dragon Age Origins: Awakening! Finishing off my haste set on my shaman, getting some quality time in on ICC 10 for badges if I'm lucky and refining our Blood Queen strategy for 25 man. Beginning to really hate 2% wipes, almost more than 1%! Also sneaking into Lego Universe on the Sunday time block for some much needed Lego goodness.
- Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra): Not sure if I'll have time for anything other than a few heroics and dailies. 'Rents are coming into town, friends are having an engagement party, and I've been pulling OT at my job, so that equals to very little comicking done. Maybe some Lego MMO beta if I have time..?
- Matt Low (@matticus): Robbing cars and running over people in Grand Theft Auto: IV. My driving skills are equally bad in game as they are in real life. :(
- Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo): Hitting 80 with the shaman and respeccing elemental like Thrall intended. Might go pick up FFXIII.
- Matthew Rossi (@matthewwrossi): I will be returning to Thedas. DEATH TO THE DARKSPAWN. I love the caps lock key this week.
- Michael Gray (@writegray): I'll be hiding in the Sekrit Project basement working on a Top Sekrit Project for WoW.com. When I come up for air, I'll probably be playing fetch with Sylvanas. I've been letting her sleep with me too much lately, and I figure if I tire her out, she'll sleep in her cage.
- Rich Maloy (@stoneybaby): spending my birthday on Satuday with the gf. Is it wrong to say I hope dinner will be finished in time to lead the Saturday run with the Big Crits crew? Sunday will be more web work then more raid. Should be a busy and fun weekend.
- Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel): There's a zombie on your laaaaaawn. There's a zombie on your laaaawn. I will most likely be succumbing to my Star Trek fangirlness and getting STO this weekend. And of course I'll be at the Gurubashi Beatdown. We don't want zombies on the lawn.
- Tyler Caraway (@Murmurs): Ohh, when it isn't DA:Awakenings, I'll be in WoW chaining Heroics until my fingers start to bleed to get the billions of gems that I need for all of my toons at current. Also, I get to participate in my first Gold DKP run with my alt death knight. So very pumped for it. Hopefully I'm not utterly fail, though, know me and melee classes, I probably will be.
- Zach Yonzon (@Battlemasters): More virtual card games, probably, and looking to level my shaman. Writing about all these other classes get me all nostalgic for my old characters so I'm dusting them off for a final run before, you know, Cataclysm makes it all moot. I mean, we're ALL re-rolling one of the new races, right?

Am I the only one that can't just put down FF13 for like 10 minutes? Also, goddamn Pokemon Heart Gold is out. Two things I gotta play. MOAR FINAL FANTASAY!!!
Steve Mar 19th 2010 9:14PM
Yeah I just got to chapter 10 and the game is so much fun! I dont mind the linearity that people always complain about since the characters are really interesting and developing. I heard it gets better too...back to FF13!

I've beaten it already. Do yourself a favor and quit once you get to Chapter 13. After the incredibly awesome cutscene that introduces it, it all goes downhill from there.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that the entire final act was like they just gave up. The final dungeon is tedious and feels like you're slogging through the same room over and over again, and the ending was probably the worst piece of deus ex machina bullshit in the entire series.
They really screwed the pooch on this one, writing-wise. And I'm a longtime, hardcore fan that loves each and every one of them (Christ, I even liked Dirge of Cerberus! Though admittedly I spent most of that game drunk and I'm a huge Vincent fangirl). Yes, it's visually breathtaking, yes, the music's great and the battle system is one of the best they've ever done, but dear god there was SO MUCH wasted about that story. It's almost criminal.
...I need to nerdrage about this on LJ again.

Bizarre/bad endings have been the norm since FF7 (and generally it has gotten worse each time). Still, was it worse than FFIX?

I've been playing the Lego Universe Beta whenever I can (simple game, yet fun and addictive). Only problem is the testing times available mean weird hours when living in Australia :(
Tezz Mar 20th 2010 1:57AM
mmm i have to agree, i think i can play tonight at like 1am >
NRD80Y Mar 20th 2010 8:41AM
Sunday 6am to 12pm i think, but may be an hour off as i think there may have been some day light saving changes in the US

It seems like a good game, i'd be a lot happier if i could stop falling into the scenery in the opening area though. I haven't gotten a lot of playtime, because MOST of the 3 days and limited hours have fallen during work hours for me. This weekend promises to be no different.
I think I'll try to give STO some love this weekend, but I'm really disappointed in it. The fanboy in me loves the idea of the game, and the character generation is awesome. Sadly I just can't seem to get interested in the story, and the controls (especially in space) are just much to clunky for me. *sigh* I even bought the collectors set for it.
I'll probably spend sunday vegged out in front of Batman: Arkham Asylum. I still haven't beaten it, and would love to before Arkham II comes out. LOL
Saint Mar 19th 2010 9:18PM
God of War III, then Final Fantasy XIII, then raid Sunday night.

If anyone see's a human paladin named Zefram from Thorium Brotherhood in a random please please please don't kick him out of the group because of low dps! my Healing set is amazing but I want to work on my ret gear this weekend! hopefully I can get enough runs for the t9 ret set!
Quisling Mar 20th 2010 12:21AM
I'm glad that I'm not the only one here that'll actually be playing wow this weekend. I just got JUST up to 71 in the LK trial and my copy of the expansion arrived late today. I'll be leveling my character as much as I can through quests and dungeons this weekend and into next week, before I leave for Boston on Wednesday
Woo PAX!
Derrek Mar 19th 2010 9:30PM
Lego Universe! It's totally awesome. Still lots of bugs need finding and reporting. It's like working with an exterminator in that regard. We find 'em, they kill 'em. Good practice for when I get a Cataclysm beta key. Did I mention how awesome it is? Also, it's Lego. Totally win!
RedGuard Mar 19th 2010 9:56PM
Woo! Just realized I got in the beta today! Can't wait to see what it's like.
Speedmonkay Mar 19th 2010 9:58PM
LEGO break dance emote FTW !!
Daranador Mar 19th 2010 9:35PM
Agh. I'm in the middle of an Awesome Game Deluge. Final Fantasy XIII, God of War 3, Starcraft 2 Beta (my first return to RTS in years), and raid night on Sunday. Now if only I could get rid of that pesky graduate school work...
RetPallyJil Mar 19th 2010 9:43PM
Mount & Blade by Taleworlds. If Blizzard isn't hard at work swiping their combat system, then the dev team is losing their touch.
Hoggersbud Mar 19th 2010 9:48PM
I've really got to get back to playing that game. I really do.
RetPallyJil Mar 20th 2010 4:19AM
Yes, you do. Get to work!
Speedmonkay Mar 19th 2010 9:56PM
Playing some Final Fantasy XI and doing LEGO Universe when it is up.
If some old guildies that just reactivated want to do some 10s on WoW, I might be healing some raids ...
VioletArrows Mar 19th 2010 10:07PM
What, the Lego Universe beta's started!? Crap, guess that means I've missed out on yet another game. *pout*
This weekend, lord knows. Sick of all the games I've got, but bored senseless and sick of job hunting.
