Breakfast Topic: Suffer mortals, as your pathetic eardrums betray you

No, it's none of the above. It's her voice. It's that awful, rasping, screeching bellow. It's the way she draws out the word 'betray' that wasn't so bad the first time I heard it but let me tell you three wipes in and I was ready to turn off the sound effects entirely. I want to kill her every week not because there is loot to be had, but so that I do not have to listen to her anymore.
On the other hand, back in the days of Blackwing Lair I begged my raid leader to let me trigger the Nefarian event, just because I really wanted to hear him talk. I forget the exact number of times we wiped on Nefarian before finally killing him for the first time, but the silky way in which he said "Let the games begin" made it a little easier to take. There are other bosses and encounter voices I love -- nobody can forget Millhouse Manastorm, he of the infamous "I'm gonna light you up, sweet cheeks!" I always loved the voice of C'thun. The first time I stepped foot into AQ40 and heard that eerie, low voice from out of nowhere, politely informing me that my friends would abandon me and that I would die, I nearly yelped aloud.
But Sindragosa. Ah, Sindragosa, you have reached a level of irritation with me that rivals even Jaina Proudmoore's incessant sobbing or Kael'thas' never ending bantering in Magister's Terrace -- which now takes longer to listen to than it takes to kill him. So how about you guys -- who's tops on the voice acting in your opinion? Who do you love to hear every time you kill them? Whose voice makes you reach for the mute button?

No, no, no, no, no.... XT-002 Deconstructor. AHHHHHHHH, whinny little robot. But Devourer of Souls is a REALLY close second.

Oh yeah! When I'm trying to stay focused and ready to fight, he speaks ... I can't help and end up laughing during the whole fight.

I really like the little robot voice, it makes me feel bad about killing him every time. It's like killing a child, but the voice is so much fun, i love the "No,no,no,no,no,no,no!" also "I-I promise I won't break them!" it's so innocent.

It's gonna be so awesome to have him as a minipet I can drag around with me, especially if I can get it before Cataclysm drops, doubly so if I can have him out when fighting XT for the weekly!
Maybe not so awesome for those who group with me, but it's not something I'd make a habit of. And I've got (so far) 83 other pets to pull out if someone asks me to. But I can't help but think I wouldn't be the only one to pull this stunt if it's at all possible to do so.

Ctrl+S is your friend. Press it before the talking and after.
Anyway, I always like Kel'Thuzad. The way his opening speech sounds so sinister and then he somehow gets a strange accent for the last sentence "obey the call of kel'thuzad"

One of the first keybinding changes I made was changing the toggle sound effects CTRL+S to CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+S since I kept accidentally turning off my sounds while playing my warlock and manually commanding my pet (CTRL+number) while moving myself. Hope someone else finds this useful.

I was totally going to say that. Obey the call of... That is my favorite emote of the game. Probably because Naxx 25 was my first raid with my first raiding guild.
'You face Jaraxxus!' is a close second

atm Falric in HoR wins it all!
"Men... women... and children. None were spared the master's wrath. Your death will be no different."
"Fear... So exhilarating."
"Despair...so delicious."
J Mar 22nd 2010 8:26AM
This pear... so delicious...
Debesun Mar 22nd 2010 8:38AM
"Soldiers of Lordaeron, rise to meet your master's call!"
There was just something about Falric's voice that just seemed so awesome to me.
Ginby Mar 22nd 2010 9:03AM
Whenever a raid starts to get down about wipes just gotta yell out
DESPAIIIRRR...so delicious...
Wueel Mar 22nd 2010 9:10AM
@ J:
You just made my day! Thank you!
Arkhell Mar 22nd 2010 9:46AM
on the note of helping the raid... drop a fish feast..
FEAST MY MINION's!!
cjivan Mar 22nd 2010 9:54AM
You beat me to it, but I agree. Falric's voice is both awesome and creepy. When he says "Despair... so delicious..." you really believe it. The very definition of great voice acting, IMO.
Clinto Mar 22nd 2010 10:08AM
Win-Win-Win.
don't forget that the Children of Stratholm fought with more ferocity.
Man! the Lore behind this simple boss speaks volumes to the events Warcraft 3.
Reminder, if you have never, EVER played the first three games that WoW is built from. You are seriously doing yourself a great dissevice
dinnercoat Mar 22nd 2010 10:38AM
Beat me to it! Sounds like Frank Langella too!
Chrissie Mar 22nd 2010 8:15AM
Oh, sorry for spamming but I have to add that it annoyed me to no end that Alexstrasza used the blood elf voice scheme. Both because I find blood elf female voices terribly annoying, and because it makes no sense for her to say "Glory to the sin'dorei". When they fixed that in a patch awhile ago and gave her her own voice, I was completely oblivious to the class changes and whatnot that the patch had brought about...I was just like ALEXSTRASZA THE LIFE-BINDER GOT A PROPER VOICE FINALLY OMG.
Valt Mar 22nd 2010 10:32AM
She has new voice?
Shes STILL talking to me like blood elf with same blood elf accent. Only without "glory to sindorei" and "death to all who oppose us". Is that what people call "new voice" or is that some wierd EU-only "remove lines and call it a day"?
Chrissie Mar 22nd 2010 11:42AM
(I play on US, not EU)
Uh, if she DOESN'T, then I'm suffering from either premature senility or hearing loss. Not to say that might not be the case, but I coulda sworn it was a new voice, and new lines (not the old ones with the more obvious blood elf ones removed).
Guess I'll have to go harass her tonight and double check.
