Arenas need to be individualized. Most of the things you'd have them remove would make them generic.

You're retarded. What if you had an arena where both teams started where on the top of gigantic pillars 30 yards apart, and stepping off said pillars would mean falling to your death. What would melee do on that map?Better yet, how about we make an arena where you and the other team start 1 yard away from each other inside a tiny box...how long do you think a mage or any other ranged would survive in there? Are these arenas "individualized" and original? Hell yes, but originality has to be put on the back-burner for the sake of balance. Or would you like to play my version of chess where the white's queen starts on a fucking 65th square right behind the black's king? No? Come on brah...it's original!

Why was Lemons downrated? All his points are 100% valid.

Please see Bob Mars post on this page. I agree with him 100%

I'd guess that it was because he was overly harsh with his opening statement and that his whole post was ranting about something that Bernie didn't even say.Bernie didn't say that individualization should come above balance - he just mentioned a downside to the suggestions posted in the article. I agree with Bernie - there's no point having different arenas if they are all basically the same.I agree with Lemon - balance is important and it would be bad to have original and individual arenas if some of the designs completely pushed the balance towards, or away from, particular classes and combinations.

Agreed. If you want a Final Destination style fight, go to Nagrand with a buddy and duel on top of one of the floating earthen platforms.People like Lemons are the reason why not many people find arenas enjoyable: the community can be absolutely ridiculous at times. While all the SRS PLAYAZ are trying to be a WoW e-thug and get SRS LEWTZ IN AREENERZ, the average player who would find a fire wall new and exciting is left out. Elevators are freaking amazing, and the first time I played RoV I was incredibly excited to be rising out of the ground. Bugs just need to be fixed, then they'd be just peachy.Moving pillars are NEAT and a breath of fresh air while taking into account the other LoS and pillar-based BGs.

@AlkaiosThe average player is left out because they like RoV? Hmmm...no, I really don't that THAT is why people don't enjoy arenas. They don't enjoy them because the barrier to entry is really, really high. They play some BGs...they don't know what they're doing...they get pwned. Instead of simply understanding getting pwned is part of the process they simply give up.If you think random fire and pillars are awesome no one gives a shit, and it's certainly not going to stop you from playing arenas if you really want to. just go to the goblin and queue for one...I assure you I have no way to stop you.
