Patch 3.3.3: Account changes for Murkimus

BashiokWith the release of patch 3.3.3 those who received the Murkimus pet for their participation in the 2009 Arena Tournament will notice that the pet is being changed to apply to their entire Battle.net account and all associated World of Warcraft licenses. If you previously claimed a Murkimus code for one character on an account this change will mean that all characters on that account, as well as characters on any other World of Warcraft licenses registered to the same Battle.net account, will receive a Murkimus in their in-game mailboxes.
With this change you'll finally be able to play any of your characters, stand up defiantly, and exclaim "I'm Murkimus!"

joy of joys this is awesome news. now i won't feel bad deleting old low level alts that i've decided I don't like. I was keeping them around because they had murkimus.

they've updated the post to say it only works per single wow account. it won't span all linked bnet accounts. it also says in theupdated post that it will be happening "soon"
i just tried making a new character on my murkimus account and it is not working at the moment.

Wow, nice change.
I do wish they'd give Murkimus more animations or interactions with other pets. Hopefully, when they eventually do another arena tournament (and presumably give a different color murloc gladiator), they'll add that stuff in.
As it is, this is the one murloc pet who doesn't do anything other than look around and twirl his spear occasionally. Grunty and Murky are both way cooler.

Now I am hoping Blizzard will give people that didn't participate to still be able to receive this pet. I hate it how people can get all these fancy pets and boast about them, yet, me, as a pet collector, cannot get these, as I cannot afford them.
I am still bitter about missing out on the various Murlocs (Marine, Murkimus, Lurky, Murky, etc), Mini Tyrael and so on... It is devastating knowing these awesome pets are in-game, yet I'll never obtain them, as I cannot go to Blizzcon events (too pricy) and I found out too late about Murkimus.

I doubt it, but Zhevra mounts next? Lets hope for that, and also, account wide TCG pets/mounts would be sweet. My Hippogryph Hatchling would look so sweet on my druid....

Well, still no sign of Murkimus on the toons I hadn't yet created when I got him previously. The rp server NEEDS the baby murloc cuteness!
