Cataclysm earthquake mobs "visible" in Stormwind

Today, WoW.com can report that these mobs are again visible in Stormwind on some servers. We've verified that when you view nameplates on mobs (by pressing the V key) and look up around the Stormwind bank, you can see the [DND] Shaker mob, as pictured above. The Shaker mobs are also present in the trade district. When you are able to view the nameplates, you can't view the actual mob itself -- they are invisible / have no form.
We're not sure how they work. We think they appear at random intervals, as sometimes we can see them and other times we can't. We also are guessing that they might only be able to be seen on some specific servers -- we know they're on Sisters of Elune and Ner'zhul.
However it's important to make very clear that other than their appearance and function, we don't know for sure how they appear.
We're interested in what others are seeing, on what servers, and under what conditions the mobs are seen. So far our staff has only been able to verify that these mobs are present in Stormwind, however we wouldn't be surprised if they're just intermittently visible in other cities.
We know that in Cataclysm Deathwing is going to come back and destroy a lot of old world Azeroth. Entire cities can change, and lands will be torn asunder. These earthquakes appear to be part of the lead up to the event, with Deathwing's return causing the very land to shake in fear.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will destroy Azeroth as we know it. Nothing will be the same. In WoW.com's Guide to Cataclysm you can find out everything you need to know about WoW's third expansion. From Goblins and Worgens to Mastery and Guild changes, it's all there for your cataclysmic enjoyment.Filed under: News items, Cataclysm

Just saw them on EU-Shadowsong. Hopped on as soon as i read your piece, and they were sitting there - one on the bank, one over the inn.
But its clearly a bug - expect a quite fix coming up ;)
Jordan Mar 24th 2010 8:52PM
Aye, they're all over the place on Sen'jin. Kinda creepy if you ask me.
ILL JUST FACEROLL EM CAUSE THEY ONLY HAVE 3k HP

...now if I only had a flying mount in Stormwind....hmmmm

Does sound like they're everywhere. Gotta hear more about them. Are they friendly or neutral?
Surely there's a warlock somewhere that'll run into another faction's city, and, if possible, get the [world first: shaker] achievement.

The cool part about it is that they look like they're all centered around the AH area of Stormwind, sorta in the fork-of-the-road area after the main entrance. My guess is something pretty sweet's gonna go down around that little zone.

So I checked Vashj server on my alliance lock and they are in fact there. Then I got on my horde and visited stormwind, and it appears nobody can attack the shakers. So no killing the shakers. :( sad sad

Alliance always get pampered....
Jamie Mar 24th 2010 9:46PM
Before the Blood Elves the Horde didn't know what shampoo was, start with the basics before you move on to the more advanced stuff like pampering. ;)
cendrekai Mar 24th 2010 9:06PM
There are many of them in SW on Eredar - US and Baelgun - US. I saw at least 5.
Rowan Mar 24th 2010 9:10PM
Spent 20 minutes making my way to SW and nothing.
Drak'tharon US - no mobs. :(
Shane Mar 24th 2010 9:13PM
I laugh at the irony of how they have [Do Not Disturb] next to their name, and yet they are throwing quakes around.
