I was lv30 when the zombie invasion hit, and I had happened to be in Tarren Mill when someone started mentioning it. Obviously, I went to the Undercity to find out more. After hearing some people mention booty bay, I went there as soon as I could. I found the box.
The next week was heaven for me.
I tried to spread the plague as far as possible, going all the way to Thunder Bluff as a zombie, infecting things along the way. I may not have been 70, but I still had tons of fun, and didn't care about NPCs dying. I purposely exploded in the AH. I enjoyed turning guards against each other.
The Zombie Invasion was meant to disrupt the common game for EVERYONE, so it could not go unnoticed. Unlike events where you HAD to be max level to do anything, the invasion incorporated everyone in it, and caused the most fun i've ever had in WoW.
I had hoped that perhaps some sort of item could have a 1% drop off the LK, and 5 could be put together to make zombies or something, yet that would be waaaay too much work >_
