As I can see it, all hatred ultimately stems from a lack of understanding. If you think back to the old class descriptions, warlocks are mages who became tempted by demonic forces and shifted towards the darker strains of magic. And that's what we don't get: you were the best class in the game but you changed your mind? We hate you because we don't understand you. And we don't understand you, because you suck.
