Yeah for a while there I completely hated wow, burnout you could say. But I was a major player of twinks. So when they were removed it was like a kick to the head. But I am seeing if I still like it after 2 months if I hate it again. Back to purely Xbox

I was pretty burnt out on WoW pre-3.3 too many heroics and finally when we got into raiding the fun started again.

They were "removed" when they put the changes to battleground xp in, with a no-xp bracket. Before the change, many twinks touted that it would be a nice change of pace to play someone decent and serious, to have a challenge for a change. Then after... many complain that no-xp battlegrounds take forever to queue, are never full, etc.
Then, the account twinks became the next big thing. Level 70s with no wrath currently dominate AV, making it a hellish situation where a full Sunwell/Brutal glad geared tank can literally hold off 10 level 69s in blues and greens.
So, no, twinking hasn't been removed, but this has proved that MOST (not all) twinks who said they really like a challenge were not being honest, and the result is that for everything but AV twinks are gone.
