Breakfast Topic: Mister Jones and me

Jones and I are buds. He's a cat that likes to hang out on the landing in the stairwell of the Legerdemain Lounge in Dalaran. He's a stealthy little guy -- he doesn't even have a listing on Wowhead, but if you stop to give Jones a /pet, he'll purr contentedly. I like to hang out in the stairwell sometimes, just Jones and me -- it's a relatively quiet spot in the middle of a usually busy area, and I can sort through my bags, chat with the guild, harass trade chat engage in some lively banter in local channels, and just hang out without being pestered. I've got a few different spots I like to hang out at, and the locations change every expansion or depending on what I'm focusing on at the time, but nothing beats Jones, he's the best.
I'm not sure why exactly I like finding non-crowded places to sit and chat with people -- it shouldn't really make a difference where I'm typing to people from, but I enjoy the relative solitude in what is otherwise a very busy and populated game. And every expansion it happens -- in vanilla, it was the upper buildings in the Drag in Orgrimmar. In Burning Crusade, I liked the relative quiet that could be found in the World's End Tavern in Shattrath, or the rocks up above the city. In Wrath, it's either the Underbelly, or the little landing in the Legerdemain that I share with Jones. He doesn't mind, he's a pretty well mannered kitty. Sometimes we tell each other fairy tales.
So how about you guys? Do you have a favorite spot to sit and chat? Does the generally crowded nature of Dalaran bother you? Do you, like me, seek out an area of relative solitude to hang out at when you aren't off storming the castle or otherwise occupied?

Much like you and Jones, me and my friends have adopted the Undercity Cockroach vendor as our mascot. We hang out there, sell our goods and generally worship the man.

LONG LIVE THE COCKROACH VENDOR.
Not only for the hilarious concept of selling roaches as pets, but also for his tragic background. I did a couple of quests related to that man... sad story, poor guy.

The second floor in Undercity, to where you can only get by some clever jumping and a slow fall effect, is one of my favourite places to hang out in when I'm just chatting or waiting for BG or dungeon queues to finish.
When I don't mind the time to get there, my absolute favourite spot to be at when chatting is Shadowprey Village in Desolace. It's almost always empty of people and it's absolutely beautiful.

I'm a fan of the empty buildings in Ironforge. I don't know why, but sometimes if I need to go AFK for more than a few minutes I'll just park myself in a chair in one of those buildings like I own the place.

^This.
The abundance of empty homes, full stocked, in Ironforge makes it the perfect place to hang out when I want to be alone. Plus, as a dwarf, I like to think I have a time-share agreement for when I'm back in town.
If the guild officers need to have a meeting, we go to the Inn adjacent to the park in Stormwind. With a mailbox outside, if we need to send a letter to a guild member, we can dash out and do that, but no wait staff asking us, when our mouths are full, how the murloc fin soup is, is nice. The Pig & Whistle in Stormwind is too busy.

I just submitted a photo for Around Azeroth of my favorite place in Northrend, the Emerald Dragonshrine.
Here's a link to the photo.

The mage tower in Stormwind is my little corner of solitude. Extremely easy to get to as a mage, and cuts out the noise of a million people. =)

I've seen Jones laying there and often wondered if maybe he was a reference to Alien. The cat in the movie was named Jones.
As for where I like to hang out, I like to hop on my Raven Lord, take him to the Sunreaver Sanctuary in Dal, and perch him on top of the statues at the base of the stairs, like an overgrown pigeon.

Me and Misses Jones... We've got a thiiing going oooon... We both know that it's wrong, but it's much too strong to let it go nooow.

Theres a spire above krasus's landing, with a bit of careful maneuvering, you can land on top of. You can remount, so you dont have to fall to your death to get off, and you will never see another person up there. Its also a nice view of dalaran. If I am waiting for something to happen that I need to be there for, I like to get on my mammoth and just run in circles around dal. Its oddly calming

I like the ledge outside of the Purple Parlor in Dalaran. There's a vendor that sells alcohol and a great view of the city without the lag. Nobody ever goes up there. I can use a flying mount too if I need to fly down quickly. And I can even jump off if i feel like being amused.

Lately I've enjoyed taking my Orc Shaman back to the Valley of Trials and hanging out in the secret path, it has that peaceful Barrens-style music, you can look out over Booty Bay, its very peaceful. Occasionally I see a newbie Shaman going up to the Earth Elemental rock for their first totem quest, upon which I shift into Ghost Wolf form and watch quietly from a distance, a spiritual observer to the beginning of their epic journey.

That's a pretty cool and hidden place in barrens that I would have never seen had I never rolled a shammy.

Oh yeah good point! Those Goblin towns all look the same to me....

I've always liked the Purple Parlor in Dalaran. Got a few NPCs up there and Batman's butler is up there too. Plus you can fly off the balcony and not have to go to the landing to take off.

Here, or up with Archmage Vargoth in the secluded room you can go to after getting the Higher Learning achievement.
