In-game fixes for March 26th, 2010

Bornakk - In-game fixes- The Endless Healing Potion is no longer usable in arenas as intended.
- Warlocks using a lower rank of Life Tap will receive a reduced benefit from their shadow spell power.
- The damage done by the cannons in the gunship encounter in Icecrown Citadel has been increased and the rate at which their heat decays has been reduced.
- In Alterac Valley, the buffs that the Generals get from the Warmasters and Marshals now grant them negative enemy dodge. This means they will now ignore some of their target's total dodge percentage. The base health of the Generals has been increased and the buff also grants a slightly increased amount of damage and health.
- The cheese items in Dalaran as well as the Kvaldir Berserkers in Icecrown will once again respawn at a faster rate.
- The window that comes up when talking to an NPC should no longer close on its own.
- Some changes to the battleground queuing system have been made to improve performance and group queuing.
- The timer for when the next battle in Wintergrasp will occur should no long disappear
There are a lot of other problems still with addons and the "loading screen boss." When those will be resolved fully is anybody's guess.

Confirming that this still happens when all addons are disabled.
Bigmu Mar 27th 2010 9:16PM
I've tried it with all of my addons moved to another folder and the graphics settings all the way down with some success. Moving/deleting your WTF folder has no effect. It only seems to happen on one of my characters too - which just happens to be the one I want to play as he's so-damn-close-to-80-it-hurts.
They'll patch it eventually - they always do...
Camo Mar 28th 2010 7:00AM
Yeah I know that it was sometimes on ptr too but not always.
Another issue i have is that it happens quite often when wow isn't focused aka I'm reading wow.com.
I realy hope they fix it soon(tm), I want my 150+ addons back. :\

Quote Brian Bloom: I've been having consistent loading issues since the patch, but its not every time.
Wouldn't that be "inconsistent loading issues" then? :)

Wow, did the Gunship battle in ICC need to be made easier? Seriously, thats the easiest fight in the whole place (besides Marrowgar, but its a toss between them).
mazokuranma Mar 27th 2010 12:32AM
I don't think this will really make it easier, just faster. Note that they just said the cannons are more powerful; I read that to mean both our cannons -and- the enemy gunship's cannons, so the net difficulty shouldn't actually change.
devilsei Mar 27th 2010 12:40AM
True, that could probably use a wee bit of clarification, I saw it more as "our cannons" since ICC has been subject to several re-adjustments in difficulty.
The heat decay thing is definitely a buff in the player's favor. It doesn't go down as fast, which makes it more predictable, which means people will be able to hit closer to 99 before hitting 2, maximizing the damage from it. Its decay before would make it sketchy on how many times you'd really need to hit 1 to get it to the sweet spot.
Chihane Mar 27th 2010 12:42AM
The enemy gunship doesn't have cannons , it has Rocketeers.
Lathenea Mar 27th 2010 12:43AM
The cannons were nerfed in 3.3 to do less damage and have heat decay faster. They are returning them back to normal.
devilsei Mar 27th 2010 12:47AM
@Lathena
Really? Cause unless that was an undocumented change (and I kind of doubt it), it's not on the official patch notes from what I've seen.
And yeah, that's why I said that, I never remembered the opposing ship using cannons, just the rockets.
Lemons Mar 27th 2010 5:24AM
Last time I did gunship battle my cannon seemed to have a double cooldown. When I would fire a cannon blast it would cooldown once and then cooldown again, so I had to wait double the normal time between firing. This made the battle take much, much longer than it should have (about twice as long). For a second I thought we were actually going to fail at gunship battle it was taking so long.
Muse Mar 27th 2010 7:41AM
It was an undocumented change. Possibly unintended as well. It was a little harder to get the heat up to full to fire, and it felt like it took longer to fire every cannon ball as well.
Namus Mar 27th 2010 12:35AM
whohoo! hotfix round and paladins are safe!
Arkmoo Mar 27th 2010 1:48AM
think you missed the one at the end
"paladin's will no longer say whohoo when they dodge a nerf swing"
Muse Mar 27th 2010 7:41AM
Don't jinx it!

"Warlocks using a lower rank of Life Tap will receive a reduced benefit from their shadow spell power."
But now the bad healers will yell at us again.
Sargenus Mar 27th 2010 3:05AM
Exactly.
Wowcoholic Mar 27th 2010 8:57AM
Is this in reference to the glyph of life tap spell power bonus? or the amount returned for using life tap?
pancakes Mar 27th 2010 9:28AM
Warlocks used to downrank to level one lifetap to trigger the bonus without taking a meaningfull health loss. It gave the same buff without having to heal another 2000ish damage. Now, to trigger the buff, the healers are going to have to work harder, and the annoying healers who refuse to heal health loss from life tap (the afformentioned bad healers) will complain about us life tapping more.
Boom Mar 27th 2010 10:37AM
As a raid healer (tree version) I appreciate a quick "tapping" from our lock(s) as it lets me know they're HP bar is going down. A simple rejuv will heal all the damage taken and doesn't cost me enough to worry about.
