Our tipline has just exploded with tips about the latest raiding news:
Paragon of Lightning's Blade (EU) has just scored the world first Heroic Lich King (25-man) kill. GuildOx backs up the tips with
a brand new listing for the achievement and you can
see it for yourself on the armory. Each member of the raid is now the proud owner of the title '
the Light of Dawn.' Not the coolest sounding title around, but the level of prestige is through the roof. We would include a screenshot of the kill in this post, but their guild website seems to be down for the count.
Congratulations to all of the players involved. The Lich King is
a harsh fight on its own, and we don't imagine doing it on
heroic is a walk in the park. How did
Defile treat you?

Also, Glorenzelg dropped. The text on Glorenzelg says it all "Paragon of the Light, lead our armies against the coming darkness."
Which is just beautiful. How unbelievably fitting.

Where has Ensidia been lately anyways? After their controversial first LK kill, they haven't gotten ANY world firsts in ICC. Is Paragon just that good?
kuri Mar 26th 2010 6:19PM
Their little exploit led to a removal of their Lich King kill (and a suspension for involved players?), which set them a week behind all other guilds. That's valuable practice and attempts they fell behind on.
They did end up sweeping past the other guilds once they got access to Heroic modes to come just behind Paragon, but they couldn't eek out 1st place.
Doddilus Mar 26th 2010 6:24PM
They're wasting all their time transferring servers trying to level the playing field.
Emoroan Mar 26th 2010 6:27PM
Ensidia cleared arthas with their alts the same week they were banned, so technically they weren't behind a week at all. They did however have to take someones alt to the first week of H modes.

Well, they transferred to Lightning's Blade because Tarren Mill has apparently been unplayable, so they've been behind through the whole run in terms of gearing up. I'm glad Paragon got it - nothing against Ensidia, but the ensuing sh*tstorm that followed them to LB has been really annoying.
If Ensidia can find a nice, quiet realm where they can get away from their infamy (probably involving name changes), I'm sure they'll be back in the mix.
Task Mar 26th 2010 6:31PM
In terms of the world, Paragon is pretty much the #1 guild in the world, counting the Heroic kill.
I'm not going to say "undisputed" because there are other guilds from the other server realms that are just as good and talented as Paragon.
As for Ensidia, they've been off the radar since the incident.
Ulrik Mar 26th 2010 8:10PM
I can promise you all, Tarren Mill was unplayable during prime time for about a month shortly after LK was available. The server would crash every fifteen minutes between about 20.00 and 23.00 server time. Maybe Ensidia got around it by moving raid times to earlier in the day or fri/sat (when the server was more stable), but I can't blame them for transferring. The only thing stopping my guild from doing it was that we weren't going to pay blizzard for a realm transfer when it's their shitty hardware that was making all the problems.
Having said that, congratulations to Paragon on the world first! Wether it's in pro sports or raiding it's all too easy to blame failure on external circumstances, but what matters is who gets their first, and that was Paragon.
RogueJedi86 Mar 26th 2010 8:12PM
I do find it fishy than of all the servers Ensidia could transfer to, they picked the one with their main rivals who have been getting all the World Firsts in ICC. Has there been any talk on Lightning's Blade of Ensidia members trying to get nice and cozy with Paragon for a possible merger (or to lure some Paragon members to Ensidia)?
Sky Mar 27th 2010 12:48AM
No Ensidia has stated that there will be no merger because Paragon is an all Finnish guild and they only have one Finnish member (language barrier)
Also, I really doubt that anyone from Ensidia or Paragon will even consider moving to the other especially since you could potentially lose your raid spot by doing so. And did I mention the language barrier?
Clydtsdk-Rivendare Mar 27th 2010 7:42PM
Perhaps we should have "elite" servers for hardcore players where you pay a little extra to play and you get realms with less lag and such perks. The idea is that Ensidia, Paragon, etc. (not to mention a lot of elitist wannabes) can all go to those few realms, if they so choose, and compete more directly while the rest of us (who keep paying our standard 15-a-month) don't have to deal with "world-first guild" lag that tends to follow them around everywhere.
Not saying it's a good or bad idea BTW, just throwing it out there. Like so many other ideas it'd have to be pulled off perfectly to work, but maybe it could.
RogueJedi86 Mar 27th 2010 7:49PM
Works for me, Clydtskdk. I could see it being the PvE equivalent of the Arena Tournament Realms. People pay extra and get their own special realm where they get to be special just like all the other raiders on those servers. Let them compete amongst themselves. What you propose actually sounds just like a PvE version of the already existing Arena Tournament Realms. I love the idea. Considering the amount of hype and focus such guilds get (like Blizz bringing in Nihilum/Ensidia to do Live Raids at BlizzCon), I'm kinda surprised Blizz hasn't tried it already.

Cute horse.
Skipping over all the bullshit about Ensidia having lag and 8 of their trees being pregnant, I would like to congratulate Paragon on their achievement regardless of ANY OTHER FACTORS.
I don't care who won and how, I would just like to congratulate the winner and wish them well for the future.
Oh, and if you don't want the horse, Disenchant it.. I'm an Abyss Crystal short of my chest enchant.
Grats, fellas.

"Not the coolest sounding title around"
You shut your mouth. My Vindicator-Pally would kill to be known as the Light of Dawn. :|
