I wish they'd remove the DE option entirely from BOE items. It drives me nuts. I've yet to get a level 80 green, blue, or epic that I was unable to sell in the AH within 1-2 tries. I'm aware of the fact that someone who wins the greed roll might shard it right there, or might send it to an alt to shard after the run. But for some reason, seeing it DE'd in front of me drives me insane. I'd love if they made BOE items share the same system that Frozen Orbs do now - no needing allowed. And no DE. People can always seek out an enchanter on their own server after the run if they're really that intent on DEing it. That way, enchanters still get a bit of a market on their skills, since people can't DE BOEs without them and keep the mats to sell on the AH and undercut the enchanter.

No Needing? So, if a blue BoE drops that my character could actually use as an upgrade, I have to pray and get lucky? Especially since you can't trade world drops cross server. No thanks.

If you need-rolled a BOE in any group my guild runs, you'd be vote-kicked. BOE != need, where I come from. BOP and needing is fine, as no one else can use it, and most people aren't ballsy enough to need roll a BOP item that they can't use to just get the vend cost. The only BOE items I don't mind people needing on are tradeskill recipes, priority going first to any crafter of the appropriate profession in the instance, and then for anyone's alts. But gear? No. Sorry. The "need" aspect for BOE gear is so ubiquitous (I need gold, I need to upgrade my alt, my guildie needs an upgrade, etc) that it should just be greed for everyone involved.

So you'd vote-kick someone who needs a BoE that is actually an upgrade for the toon they are playing at the time? I know epics are pretty easy to get now, but there are a few BoE items out there that are decent enough for a new 80 until they get a better piece in place. Not everyone has the time to chain run enough heroics to get full T9 in a few days. And seriously, you get that worked up over the 10-50g a BoE blue is worth (most are worth the short end nowadays) on the AH? Go do some dailies.

"So you'd vote-kick someone who needs a BoE that is actually an upgrade for the toon they are playing at the time?..."umm, yeah, we do VK people like that for the simple reason most "needing" on a BOE is so they can sell it, ive yet to see a random pug member need on a BOE and use it. hell we've had pug members need a boe and drop group. you have to remember, not all servers/battlegroups have the most honest people playing. there are some that would /need candy from a baby if they could"I know epics are pretty easy to get now, but there are a few BoE items out there that are decent enough for a new 80 until they get a better piece in place."i gotta disagree with you, most heroics and whatnot drop gear so fast that getting a BOE at 80 (thats not epic) is kinda worthless (unless you are doing PVP and get your class armor set to use, but that is crafted). "Not everyone has the time to chain run enough heroics to get full T9 in a few days."gotta disagree again, i had a BRAND new 80, i had 3 pieces of tier 9 in.....2 days, and i wasnt running anything too hard core seeing i had OTHER 80s that had priority in frost badges"And seriously, you get that worked up over the 10-50g a BoE blue is worth (most are worth the short end nowadays) on the AH? Go do some dailies."10-50g that you didnt have a shot on. that does add up, give it a little thought

@RialleI *do* dailies. I've had enough gold to buy a chopper, the vendor mammoth, the other three passenger mammoth, get the hundred mount achievement, and buy enough primordial saronite without wasting my frost badges on it to get a piece of ilevel 264 crafted gear, as well as many of the rare in-game drop pets such as the Hyacinth Macaw. I don't chain run heroics all day either, far from it. I have a child, I have limited play time, I usually run one instance a night and raid lightly on weekends. I get upset with the fact that the people needing on BOEs are usually liars, they don't use them, they turn around and sell them or funnel them off to an alt or guildie. Why should they need roll on them for those reasons but expect no one else to? By that logic, everyone should need roll the BOEs. In fact, we might start making that part of our guild-majority runs, thanks for the idea. I'm tired of people who feel entitled to BOE gear simply because it drops when everyone has an equal chance to use it somehow. The reverse logic is also true. If it's such an upgrade for you, why wouldn't you go to the auction house and pay the 10-50g for it? That's certainly more expedient than hoping something will drop. There's also a lot of Ulduar and TOC crafted gear that's better than many of the BOEs that drop.Don't forget the mother of all BOE drops, the Battered Hilt, which is worth a lot more than 10-50g. There were several people on my server who ninja'd it and then auctioned it off, under the premise they were going to actually use the weapon. Or, any of the ICC BOE drops. There are several I'd love to get my hands on, like the Ring of Rotting Sinew, but I wouldn't dream of need rolling on that, and most raids wouldn't even give someone the chance because it would already be on master loot and up for roll by the general raid. I've never been in a raid where BOE dropped and need rolling was allowed. I prefer a standard policy when it comes to that stuff, because the people pulling it on low-end items that aren't worth much in heroics are the ones who will try and do it on high-end items in a raid.

I hope you at least examine the toon you are vote kicking first. I have a pally who is hanging out in outlands (grinding enchanting mats) but who is allready 70. So to alleviate the boredom of killing blood elves 10 at a time in netherstorm I queue up for random lich king dungeons. Nearly all of the items, green or otherwise, are upgrades for me, so I roll need. I am assuming that your guild runs comprise of level capped folks in raid gear, so I guess I can understand where you are coming from, as none should "need" any of the items that drop as upgrades.
