Icecrown Citadel raid buff has been buffed to 10%

Raiders rejoice (or despair depending on how you feel about it)! The Icecrown raid wide buff has been increased by an additional 5% to 10%. Anyway, if your raid has been on the brink of taking down some bosses but could not muster enough firepower, then the improved Strength of Wrynn or Hellscream's Warsong could be that extra push you need!

Does this carry over into lockouts that have been extended? We're working on some later bosses and extended last week's raid into this week.
kronpas Mar 30th 2010 10:47PM
Last time I checked it did, at least from 0-5%.
PBoy227 Mar 30th 2010 3:03PM
They need a ladder system. My guild is very happy with the 5% but not comfortable with 10%
Tim Mar 30th 2010 3:06PM
"Grom, could you sing your warsong, but less loudly?"
"AHWDHAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
tatsumasa Mar 30th 2010 3:07PM
then play through 10% until you get slightly better gear and turn the buff off altogether.
Randolyn Mar 30th 2010 3:08PM
Our guild would happily jump to 30% right now if we could.
Let's get this Lich King dead already, sheesh.

stealing that for my sig. lol.

I'm with Randolyn on this one. I really don't get the philosophy of not wanting it. It's like someone giving you a corvette bet you want to stick with your moped.
manxome Mar 30th 2010 3:45PM
I'm with you PBoy. We have a 10 man raid that isn't class-optimized and I feel the 5% gave us the benefit of having less druids and mages. At 10%, I'm feeling like the satisfaction of downing the boss is a bit diminished.
I had hoped the new casual-friendly WoW would remove some of the "gotta do it NOW NOW NOW" pressure for guilds that end up having to go at the raids longer but that does not seem to be the case.
I'd be happier with a choice between 5% and 10%.

People keep acting like ICC is being made stupid easy by this progressive buff. They seem to be forgetting that it was *Blizzard* that put it in, meaning they balanced ICC around this buff! I read that Theorycrafters had speculated that the heroic Lich King is impossible without the 5% buff! So, really, you're not being belittled or pandered, it's a valid game mechanic!
So, feel free to enjoy your game guilt-free.

Truely, 30% raid buff is waaaaay too much and our guild will feel very uncomfortable with anything more that 29.9999999999999999999999%.
Cataca Mar 30th 2010 3:12PM
I just take this to mean that Cataclysm is 33.33% (repeating of course) done since Cataclysm will release shortly after the buff hitting a 30% increase.
Koskun Mar 30th 2010 3:17PM
Nope. Cataclysm will by most accounts be out before Blizzcon, so September or October. Cataclysm beta isn't to start until SC2 is out of beta, or very close to out of beta (sometime next month). Also, Blizzard has announced that the Ruby Sanctum will be in before Cataclysm launches.
Not to mention Blizzard has said the Cataclysm event is to be a month before it even launches.
Cataca Mar 30th 2010 3:53PM
Eh it was more of a joke :-P
But following the buff to 30% and the release of Cataclysm it would go something like this...
Since Cataclysm should be right around the corner when the buff reaches 30% we can estimate how much time we have left to wait for it's release. This isn't really accurate at all because we don't know if Blizzard will increase the buff at the same intervals. (i.e They increase the buff by 5% every 3 weeks. It could be 3 weeks one time and then 5 weeks the next.) So this renders all of this moot but it's still a cool little judgment of how close we are.
Buff=10% Wait for Cataclysm is 33.33% done
Buff=15% Wait for Cataclysm is 50% done (Half way!)
Buff=20% Wait for Cataclysm is 66.66% done (Little bit more!)
Buff=25% Wait for Cataclysm is 83.33% done (Soon!)
Buff=30% Cataclysm should ether be here or is right around the corner (OMG When is it!?)

I gave this a thumbs up just for the Leroy reference. :)

Cataclysm WILL NOT be out before Blizzcon. It will be Blizz's big talking point & 1st time peeks/trying at the expansion. Just like The Lich King! Blizz wouldn't kill the excitement of Blizzcon by releasing it sooner than the con. Besides, judging by history, it's Blizz's pattern to release new stuff in late november, to possibly the 1st couple months of the new year. Hate to be a buzzkill!
Irem Mar 30th 2010 5:55PM
@rhino327 They've already made jokes about people being "sick of goblin rogues by the next Blizzcon." Cataclysm was already their huge talking point at Blizzcon--the last one they had.
If Blizzcon is in October (it is) and Cataclysm ships in November (since you're basing that just on what they did last year), the pre-expansion event/patch would be in full swing by that point and the beta would be over and everyone would already know what's coming. Would devoting an event to teasing something that's going to be coming out in a month make sense?
What we're likely to see at the upcoming Blizzcon is info on the Warcraft movie, or their next-gen MMO. Or something completely different out of left field.
rhino327 Mar 30th 2010 6:21PM
Nah! It'll be a Cataclsym Blizzcon this year as well, with a playable Cataclysm for everybody to play & drool over, then hit the stores in late November. (think Lich King)
I've got no doubt that they'll touch on the movie as well, since it's in the 1st stages of becoming a reality. The mmo, not so much. That's their new, top secret baby & they won't let the cat outta the bag on that one until at least the next Blizzcon, which will then be used for the launching point of the mmo.
