Icecrown Citadel raid buff has been buffed to 10%

Raiders rejoice (or despair depending on how you feel about it)! The Icecrown raid wide buff has been increased by an additional 5% to 10%. Anyway, if your raid has been on the brink of taking down some bosses but could not muster enough firepower, then the improved Strength of Wrynn or Hellscream's Warsong could be that extra push you need!

Tbh that's actually a pretty decent requirement if the raid is actually going to succeed in anything beyond saurfang. Sure, I think the buff will change that a bit.
It's been my experiences as a tank, however, that the GS Requirement is more of a guideline rather than a rule. Get one of the achievements after the lower spire and I think you'll be suprised at how many pugs you can get into with a 5.2/5.3k GS.
I realize that you get into this horrible situation where you can't join a group unless you've proven yourself (achiev) and you can't prove yourself unless you've been in a group. But maybe you should start your own pug? Keep the quality of the group up and I think you'll be suprised at how easy the blood or plague wing is with the icc buff up. Recently, I've found that, as long as the group is knowledgeable on the fights, the blood wing CAN be easier to complete than the plague wing. Especially with that bastard putricide at the end =P

Is there an Achievement not using the buff.
I believe there should be.

Let the complainers start complaining!
Hivetyrant Mar 30th 2010 4:45PM
And yet I still can't get into a PuG without stupid GS and achievement requirements :(
Good thing my multibox team is almost ready, i'll just do it myself! QQ

The buff is lame. It makes achievements and encounters feel meaningless. My 10 man was on the cusp of getting the LK down. Now it'll feel like the buff was key factor even though I'm pretty certain we would have gotten it down without either the 5% or 10% buff.
You could always see content if you wanted once you outgeared it. With buff it doesn't feel like a challenge that could be overcome but rather a cheat code you entered to beat the boss.
Hoof Mar 30th 2010 4:53PM
Brilliant idea then, turn it off!
Wowza Mar 30th 2010 4:56PM
So you're "close" to downing LK without the buff.. then guess what.. talk to the guy and TURN OFF the buff... then you can stay "close" to downing him..
Keeping the buff is optional.
Brian Mar 30th 2010 5:21PM
It's optional. Turn it off and move along. It's like the people who complain that everyone can get T9 gear from running heroics. No one says you had to get T9 gear. Convert them to Emblems of Heroism and start with Naxx if you feel that's important. The option is there so a much larger population can experience the content Blizzard worked hard for us to experience.
Diavola Mar 30th 2010 5:03PM
I want to resent the buff, but I just don't. I want to be done with LK and onto hard modes already.
Numb Mar 30th 2010 5:38PM
I said it last time, it still holds true.
Keep the buff in normal - remove it in heroic.
Lets everyone see the 'end game' completely, and it lets the hardcore keep the epeen they're looking for.
Also, I'm worried that once the buff his 30%, ICC hard mode will be equally difficult as ToGC... which seems wrong (again though, this only applies to heroic - I *do* support Blizzard's concept of letting the casuals have a chance to 'win' the expansion).
Morbash Mar 30th 2010 11:57PM
Agree. I've said this many times too...and then, generally, get flamed....just turn it off! blah blah.
It should never have been applied to heroic modes. If it's really just about casuals getting to see end-game content, why apply it to heroic modes?......or is it really just about getting the same gear as more comitted raiders who hit heroic modes before the buff.....hmmmm?
Jay Mar 30th 2010 6:55PM
Can't wait for 30%.
Only 20 to go!
Aestaleda Mar 30th 2010 8:00PM
I love how people are qqing about there being the raid buff and it increasing. Little does everyone know that unless you know the movement of the fights and the mechanics of the movement on each boss fight you still wont get the boss down, no matter how large the buff gets too. So please stop complaining about the buff no body wants to hear anyone wine and quite frankly blizzard doesnt care if you hate the buff, that's why they gave you the option to turn it off to avoid mindless comlaining like what I have read.
Anthony Mar 30th 2010 10:22PM
will our %5 update to 10% if we extend? anyone know?
Kroof Mar 31st 2010 1:24AM
I am so sick of people complaining about this buff.
You can turn it off. Boom there, progress as you like.
Oh, you want 5%, but not 10%? That is just being silly.
It is there to let other people see the content, without making one massive nerf that trivializes the whole raid and turns it into an instant loot pinata.
Whats that? You say that with this buff ICC already IS a loot pinata? Well, grats to you. Have you full cleared the hard modes?
My guess is no.
All serious guilds worried about progression will consider kills only valid without the buff. No there isn't an achievement or anything to easily keep track. But if it came down to which guild is better progression wise. It would obviously go to someone who downed bosses without the buff.
Tk Mar 31st 2010 4:52AM
This is blatantly untrue. All the top guilds are taking the buff, and will until they have beat all the current encounters. After that, sure, I can see some ePeening over turning off the buff. Unless you're in Paragon, I don't think the matter applies to you yet.
Guild started HM Saurfang 25 today and let me tell you, fight is no joke even with 10% buff.
Kroof Mar 31st 2010 4:07PM
Apparently I spoke too soon without knowing all the facts.
"All the top guilds are taking the buff".
If everyone is taking the buff, I am STILL sick of hearing people complain about it.
You can turn it off and hold your head up high, knowing you completed content without assistance. Or you can take the buff just like "...All the top guilds..." and down content.
I don't care what you do, I just don't want to hear any bitching.
Rippchen Mar 31st 2010 4:57AM
wrong. lk 25 hc first kill was down by a buffed raid. This was the fist kill that counted. And i think Paragon qualifies as "serious guild worried about progression".
Samantha Smith Mar 31st 2010 8:23AM
ZERG SINDRIGOSA!
real strats are for losers.
Eveleaf Mar 31st 2010 9:23AM
Even a 30% raid buff is not going to make it easier for your 25-man raid to get out of the defiles. All this will do is speed your group to the LK. But the final fight is very, very tricky, no matter what.
