Breakfast Topic: I threw that away, d'oh

On this past St. Patrick's Day, guild members were doing the quest chain in Hellfire that rewards you Mirren's Drinking Hat. At the time my main was doing this chain, I wasn't the connoisseur of hats that I am now. 10 and counting. Yet another reason for Blizzard to make wardrobes (urge to rant rising.) Several guild members have that hat and it provides much laughter when they pull a random brew from it. I, however, am so sorry I didn't save it. 2 gold for selling it was, at the time, a lot of money for a perpetually broke dwarf and I had a "better" hat for questing.
Yes, I know. A dwarf tossing away a drinking hat! That alone is almost sacrilegious. But sold it I did. Now, when guild members pull some brew out of their hats, I regret my decision and I'd go do the quest chain again in a heartbeat just to get that hat. I'd have to toss something from my inventory (Archmage Vargoth's Staff maybe, or Monster Slayer's Kit, neither of which I use but are awesome in their own right) to carry it around in my bags, but I'd do it to get that hat.
How about you? Is there any quest reward that you sold or otherwise disposed of that you'd do the quest chain to get again?

I've actually become something of a pack rat because of all the cool stuff in the game, and because I'm a roleplayer at heart and always think of what my characters would do, even though I don't actually RP them. My Blood-specced DK has a thing for red and black garments and mounts, so I did the quest to get the aforementioned drinking hat and held onto it, just because. Someday, when she needs to look fancy, she'll wear that along with the Robe of Doan (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=7711).

Blizzard needs to make certain quest rewards that are prized more for their uniqueness than for their stats into Bind-on-Account items. That way, you could run the quest again on a different toon and mail it to your main.

When leveling im the type of person that quests til my bags are full, then I mass purge. Usually flying through them without anythought for the future. One of my few collectionc that Im actually proud of is Ive collected my Teir Helms from over the years. Being a Druid I currently own Stormrage Cover, Stag-Helm of Malorne, etc. However heres a a few things I really regret vendoring:
-Various cooking recepies
-Argent Dawn Tabard, Haunted Momento (Both from scourge invasion)
-Brewfest charms
-Dartol's staff of transformation
-Arch Mage Vargoths Staff

I have both Argent Dawn Tabard and Haunted Momento. I also have all the items you could buy from there and I love being able to summon my own paladin to Bubble Hearth. And the entire Blessed "" of Undead Cleansing set. I will NEVER delete these because we will never be able to get them back.

Blizzard can give you any quest reward back all you have to do is put in a ticket

Being a pack rat too, there's not much I deleted i wish I didn't, but there are some quest items I'm so glad I kept:

http://www.wowhead.com/?item=13289 (gotta love Ghostbusters!)
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=16787 (I wish that would work everywhere)
weirdly enough, I deleted my clockwork robot from x-mas2008 and the stable master won't give me another one :(

In the days before buyback, I vendor'd a parrot drop from Deadmines. I realised what I'd done instantly, but didn't think to ask for it back. Stupid noob :(
And yes, had that hat too. Vendor'd for bag space cos it was ugly and didn't suit my human male. Sad ever since...

Some how deleted the headless horseman Plate Helm. Not the Achievments one but the Real plate glowing laugh like the horseman one. vendored it at some point i guess for bag space. But really whated to keep it just to annoy plp in raid. lol

One thing I'm glad I did keep was this http://www.wowarmory.com/item-info.xml?i=31686 quest reward from Blade's Edge. When worn by a female it looks like a pair of blue platemail pasties, my JC wears it and dances in Dalaran to stir up business. Anyone know if there's a similar item for alliance?

Take a look in the comments, they say where you can find stuff with the same model.

Tork Wrench. I completed this quest before I decided that my Tauren Hunter would make his engineering an aspect of RP... so much for getting to dual-wield wrenches...

I am a bit rage-y that there is no Horde equivalent for this sexy hat
Hob Mar 31st 2010 11:53AM
Barov's Peasant Caller.
I got this on my geared 80 rogue, having decided to go back and solo some old dungeons and do the quests. It was a lot of fun, and but it was only "sort of cool" to summon the peasants (who seemed to despawn really quickly). I was like, "Meh, whatever," and vendored it. The next day I had about a million cool ideas for it. Stealthing around with peasants following me, endless role-play scenarios, summoning them in mid-air while I'm drifting down on my comfy parachute... What?! I am an evil rogue, after all...

I accidently vendored Grom'Tor's Bloody Bandage. A year later, when I got a chance at a FigurePrint, I discovered I had no matching belt for my Robe of Power. Thankfully, a GM restored it for me. I then went on a quest to collect every similarly designed belt, just in case. (Still don't have a Flarecore Robe to go with my Brantwood Sash, though)
If I could do a quest over, it would be the one to kill that necromancer in Duskwood. Why on Earth did Blizzard make a unique off-hand and stick it on a low-level quest? I had no way of knowing that the off-hand was the only match for the Hand of Righteousness, which I never heard of until 20 levels later. Hopefully it will show up in Gilneas. I just got a feeling.

when i first started i got a red whelpling after 3 or 4 kills. had no idea it was worth anything and a guy had helped me for a quest, so i gave it to him as a thanks =[

@ Deb Montague
If you faction changed to Horde and then back to Alliance, you *might* be able to do this quest, again, since from how I understand the change, it resets all faction-specific quests (which this is).
I'll admit, that's probably a RADICAL method of getting that hat ... but it might just be possible. :)
Matthew Mar 31st 2010 9:27PM
goblin transponder. getting to gnomer as horde is a pain. now i know it can be restored!
I still have my really sticky glue. And my skywitch hat.
bigcountryinil Mar 31st 2010 2:35PM
it wasnt a quest reward but while i was still noobing it up i got a whelp pet and vendored it for 30s >.

Just the other day I decided to go upgrade my dungeon set 1 from Magister's to Sorcerer's and found the most interesting item along the way, the Ectoplasmic Distiller. During the second chain (after getting the bracers quickly) you get this item which allows you to collect plasma from ghosts. It works like any of these quests, you place the item on the ground then kill things near it to get credit, except that it can be placed anywhere and has a gigantic pulsing blue aura around it.
I had fun setting it up in Dalaran and Org the other day, sadly it requires goblin rocket fuel every use but it lasts a good 5 minutes and an alchemist can always make more.

This article and all the comments have made me so much happier that I tend to be a pack rat. :) That being said I don't think i ever got that rod of transformation and NOW I WANT! :)
I always wondered how those Furbolg turned up in Daly.
