The key to protecting yourself from that OP charge as an Adept is to use Singularity defensively. Toss it down on the ground and stand on it: and Vanguard who tries to charge you will get sucked in and start doing the anti-gravity dance.

Just pray that they aren't grouped with an Inflitrator... Standing in a glowing vortex of awesome is just asking for a sniper headshot...
