I would definitely not be a tattle tale.

This new friend of yours had the audacity to do something in real life away from WoW for a little while, and his super-strict guild kicked them out for it.

In some cases tipping off the guild leadership would be in order (like if your friend ninja'd a guild bank), but this isn't one of them.

Telling on him only damages your reputation, burns bridges, and complicates an otherwise smooth transition into your new guild.
