No, that's what I meant by modifications. Remove the "decay" of the fish, but make them only grow if feeded and if the water is changed. The "special" types of water can also be expanded upon to encourage travel to different places (with, perhaps, less of the "fish grows faster" kind of bonuses, and more of the "fish sparkles" or "the water in the aquarium is green"). I mean, it's kind of like anything in WoW, if you don't log in, nothing will happen. I think it could be a fun and quirky mini-game.
