WRUP: We're all April Fools here edition

- Anne: There are far too many, but I am loving the Diablo Gamer Blanket.
- Amy: I have yet to pull it off, but I want to use cardboard to create a little windowbox on the windows at one of the law school office suites, then fill that box with packing peanuts. From the outside, it'll look like I've filled the whole office. It's two gags in one -- first when the victim thinks his office has been filled with peanuts, and then when they discover it hasn't! Comedic pranking with minimal cleanup.
- Basil: My favorite gag is probably my own -- I rick-rolled over 2,000 people this year. I am happy.
- Daniel: I'll come out and say it: I thought WoW.com did it up right this year, especially with Twilight Insider and Gaga Insider. Love Glue Gunnin' indeed.
- Elizabeth H.: Gmail was announced on April 1st. It was days before people realized they weren't joking -- I mean, really? An entire gigabyte of email storage? Ludicrous!
- Joe: Several years ago when I was in college while a friend was showering, me and a group of friends cleared his room out of everything leaving only his empty desk, bed without sheets and closets and drawers empty. It was basically back to before he moved his stuff in. When he went to get the RA, we put everything back just as it was and left campus before we could be spotted. We then called him from Friday's asking what was taking so long for him to meet up with us.
- Kelly: I am a fan of Blizzard's, through and through. Last years' Starcraft and WoW gags were my favorite. I honestly would love to see Kael'thas Sunstriders Azeroth's Best Dance Crew. :(
- Lisa: I'm actually trying to avoid the April Fools' stuff, because my kids have been pounding me with the PvZ song for the last two weeks ... and at this point, I suspect there may really be a zombie on my lawn...
- Rich: Simple one that can be used any time for office fun: using Netsend (Windows) to send important-looking but completely made-up Windows messages to your colleagues. My personal favorite: "Your system has experienced catastrophic failure. Please do not touch anything."
- Tyler: I'm not a prankster, never have been, and after the fail showing for WoW.com, it's easy to see why. I can laugh really well at myself, though. My college roommate once filled my entire bed with water balloons. He didn't actually intend for me to jump on my bed -- I guess they were just being stored there there for a water fight my roommate and some friends were having later -- but I got home earlier than expected and instantly flopped up on my bed, completely soaking myself, my blankets and most of the floor around me. Ahhh, fun times.
- Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert): Sunday is going to be all Easter events with the fam, and we canceled raid for the holiday. Probably just going to take it easy for a few days.
- Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey): Lich King Lich King Lich King DEFILEDEFILEDEFILE -- can I just mention I hate Defile? I hate Defile. Also writing, and apparently I am cooking a ham for Easter, which I completely forgot was this weekend until a not-so-subtle email from my aunt entitled "You are cooking a ham for Easter." Go figure.
- Amy Schley (@wowlawbringer): This weekend -- the Lawbringer must think of a topic for Monday. Also, I still have hundreds of pages of text to go through in creating my outlines for finals. Finals are less than a month away? /gulp
- Brian Wood: I'll be raiding ICC, talking with former WoW.com hunter columnist Brigwyn on the Hunting Party Podcast, and spending way too much time stocking the guild bank for the new WHU all-hunter guild.
- Basil Berntsen (@outdps): This weekend I am going to be playing with the target dummy and trying to get my hunter DPS addon out for real.
- Chase Christian (@madsushi): Raiding some more ICC heroics and playing some SCII beta with my brothers; it's about time I got to dropping Dark Templars on their unsuspecting bases.
- Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb): With the Easter Holiday, I'm probably going to be at church, out running errands or at the big Easter potluck come Sunday.
- Elizabeth Harper (@faience): Attempting to tame the weed-ridden nightmare that is my back yard. Oh, and I'll probably check in to see what the readers think my Choose My Adventure shaman ought to play.
- Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives): In a shocking development, I actually started playing some WoW again. Otherwise, I'm working on the ambulance each night this weekend, and our local college basketball team is in the Final Four, so most of my time will be spent transporting drunk, obnoxious Duke students to the ER. Please ... please, West Virginia, beat Duke and spare my weekend.
- Joe Perez (@Lodurzj): I will be spending some quality time in WoW getting ready for monday and taking Sindragosa-25 down her last 27% and then getting ready to spend some time with the Lich King-25. Finding some time to finish up Scrubs starting with season five and since I'm still plenty addicted to ME2 so ... probably another play through on that one ...
- Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra): Uuhh ... hopefully getting Blizzard billing to unlock my account. Again. For the third time. Then, I am throwing my physical authenticator in the trash, and using the Android app. Then ... comics.
- Lisa Poisso (@emused): Wondering why, oh why the Alliance players in Trade chat on my realm seem so very, very young and why, oh why, I'd never noticed that all the Horde players seem to do is relentlessly camp lowbie towns. It's a wild, wild world. /violin
- Matt Low (@matticus): Clash of the Titans! Maybe some StarCraft 2 beta in the works and some ICC-10 with whoever happens to be around on the weekend.
- Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo): I am slowly becoming less WoW-unemployed and might be doing some Lich King-25 this weekend while still trying to find a new 10-man. Also, I am preparing some cool addon stuff and doing some writing.
- Michael Sacco (@mikesacco): Playing Pokemon HeartGold and a myriad of other games I had the good fortune to purchase. Games, man. They crazy.
- Rich Maloy (@stoneybaby): Big Crits raids on Saturday and Sunday so, given the holiday, we'll probably raid ICC on Saturday and then ToGC and/or Ulduar on Sunday. Should be a fun weekend. As per usual, Saturday is qt w/the gf, and Sunday is sleeping in and getting things done in preparation for the week.
- Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel): I will be working on my professions on Robinemia, so that she will be ready for the next Choose My Adventure questing session. There will also be STO, PvZ and Lego Universe. And of course, I will be Shaking My Bunny Maker on Sunday.
- Tyler Caraway (@Murmurs): I have no clue what I'll be doing this weekend to be honest. Mostly some digging into some theorycrafting for WoW while passively leveling an alt. I doubt I'll be doing many, if any, 10-mans this weekend, as Easter at work always leaves me completely dead.

I was a bit of a prankster when I was in grade school, but after that, it wasn't fun anymore. *shrug* Thinkgeek's are always interesting, and I liked the neural interface and EPEEN ones. woot.com's was fun. Wowwiki's just made my head hurt (they would show up the right way upon loading, and after looking at it a second would flip over and take my eyes with it). Not gonna lie, pretty much just stayed away from WoW.com all day. Sorry, guys. Pretty much everyone else's this year was just lame. It's like most folks don't care anymore and throw something together at the last minute. LiveJournal and Google, I'm looking at you.
This weekend I'll be doing more LEGO Universe testing, and having cheesy-bad superhero goodness in Champions Online with my boyfriend.

I pulled off the packing peanuts prank on my old boss. We had nice big windows at our office, and everyone in the building could see his office as they walked in from the back parking lot. He also had large windows inside his office and I did those too. It was a lot more work to put up than it was to take down...but SO worth the laughs.
Also: It pays to get in good with the second shift cleaning staff to unlock his door for you. :)

Some real-life tailoring, real-life Noblegarden, and knocking out quests in Shadowmoon Valley for the final push toward Loremaster on my main. Maybe a few randoms. /shrug

I'm basically co-admin of my guild w/ my best friend.
I managed to get a good chunk of the guild to mail my best friend (the guild leader) on April 1st telling him how they think I'm a total jerk and a horrible raid leader and that if he doesn't kick me out they're going to leave.
Enough people mailed him that he got seriously freaked out and took me into a private vent channel and I got to enjoy listening to him agonizing about what he should do. "They all want me to kick you out, dude!"
I milked it for a while and then I said "April Fools". :D

Amy: I actually did that exact prank to my orchestra director (with the only change being that I used torn up newspaper and concert programs). It turned out great. :D

Best prank I've ever seen:
This was pulled on me, sadly, but it's still hilarious.
Materials:
Raw Eggs x2
Bowl
Pan
A prankee who likes bolied eggs
A prankster who is known to, or would not be suspicious if he/she made boiled eggs.
Process:
1. Get the two eggs out in advance, and put them in a bowl.
2. Make the pan look like eggs were boiled in it.
3. Later, offer the prankee the eggs, but tell them that the eggs are boiled.
4. Watch in silence as the person cracks the egg to enjoy it's boiled-goodness and savor the confused look on their face as yolk leaks over whatever they cracked the egg on...
No one EVER suspects it. It's just so weird to use eggs as a prank (without throwing them at a house/car/bike/dog/person/mirror{man, THAT was an awesome April 1st...})...

Does i.wow.com no longer work? Wheneve I try it, I get redirected to the full version of the site which tends to make Safari on my iPhone crash more often than not!

I love the internet on April Fools Day. But i was looking forward to hearing more about Muscle March. You let me down.
This weekend i'll be mostly playing Just Cause 2 and maybe log in to check on my paladin and check in with my guild.

I haven't gotten much wow time in the past week due to the combined distractions of Pokemon Soul Silver and the Shawn Michales: My Journey DVD, but I'm aiming to get some play time in this weekend (at least a little alt leveling). Ether that or watch a little more of the Shawn Michales DVD (that thing is incredibly long, 9 hours over 3 disks).
BTW, The Rockers Vs The Hart Foundation redefines epic win.

I got the bass guitar i've wanted for a long time (a yamaha MBX200 from my birthyear 1992) and i've joined a new guild (SEES on Chamber of Aspects EU - horde, you guys are awesome!). I'm lvling my pally, gonna do the easter achi's on my DK (only need that and children's week, and lurkey turkey for the title and pet). Gonna be a sweet weekend.
daan.leijen Apr 4th 2010 5:05AM
Make that a Yamaha RBX200, i can't think after half a bottle of alcoholic licorice drinks of 20%.

"So now tell us, dear readers -- what are you playing this weekend?"
Well, today, after many failed attempts previous weeks, not only did my guild score our first Saurfang Jr. 10-man regular kill, but we also got the achievement I've Gone and Make a Mess ( http://www.wowhead.com/?achievement=4537 ). We also got Boned 10-man achievement today ( http://www.wowhead.com/?achievement=4534 ).
I know this is small potatoes for guilds downing ICC heroic mode bosses, but for us, this was a huge deal, and a big stumbling block for us in ICC progression.

Thanks for the Twilight insider WoW.com
That one made me gag with laughter.

Dear Miss Wachowski,
Seems to me everytime you mention Durham, you bash it. Being someone who lives here and enjoys Duke Forest, DPAC, the Durham Bulls, and other amenities of this city, I feel that if you really hate being here, then make a change. Durham has it's problems, but so do many of the other places i have lived (Dallas, Chicago, Norfolk, St Louis, Orlando, and Charlotte) and I think Durham has a great blend of communities.
Tokkar Apr 3rd 2010 10:03PM
o_O
Wait...
Wanting Duke to lose so she doesn't have to deal with drunk, obnoxious college students fighting her, hitting on her and throwing up in her ambulance as she transports them to the ER for alcohol poisoning, gashes and whatnot from fighting and passing out on the men's room floor all weekend long is trashing Durham?
Either you're reading WAYYYY too much into that or you really need some thicker skin.
Seriously.
