Great article! Although when I first started pvp'ing on my priest it was pretty frustrating, now it's one of the most fun things in the game for me.Few things that weren't mentioned: your shadowfiend is simultaneously your best friend and greatest enemy. He actually does a lot of dps, so it's great to use when you need to go ultra offensive. Also, if you use him when the enemy is under pressure, they are less able to CC him (grrr cyclone). One nice trick against priests and warriors is to summon the fiend, then immediately Fear Ward him, since most (decent) priests and warriors will try to save fear for the fiend. As far as gearing goes, I highly recommend haste. Penance doesn't scale really well with spellpower, and crit is unreliable. Haste will enhance your healing and dps, but also those peripheral things priests can do: dispelling and mana burning, and will also make all your spells harder to interrupt. Also, don't give up hope when melee classes keep beating your face in! It gets much much easier once you acquire more resilience gear, and besides, no priest can just escape a melee class on their own, like a frost mage can. No matter your gear, you will always either be relying on teammates to peel 'em off you, or outlasting them while DoTs whittle them down.
