Technically, poisons and diseases should be right up a druid's ally, as you said, they're natural occurrences. They got curse instead of disease though. Probably mostly because that already was a part of the priest and paladin kit, and they didn't want it taken from them.Shaman on the other hand, should definitely be masters of magic and curses. Poisons and diseases have little to do with the spirits, yet a voodoo curse or magical possession would make lots of sense. However, I do agree that if they lose both their manual dispel and cleansing totem, it will be very strange, given that they've had these as part of their kit since the beginning. We'll have to see how shamans are compensated.
