- Shaman - April 7
- Priest - April 7
- Warlock - April 7
- Warrior - April 8
- Death Knight - April 8
- Rogue - April 8
- Hunter - April 9
- Druid - April 9
- Mage - April 9
- Paladin - April 16 (More details on this in the blue post)
Beginning Wednesday, April 7 we will begin releasing class previews containing an overview of some of the changes currently being planned for each of the 10 World of Warcraft classes. The type of information you can expect from these posts are a list of the new spells from 80-85, the new passive mastery bonuses for all talent trees, a brief outline of some of the talent changes we're currently planning, and in some cases new low level spells for select classes.
These changes will by no means be comprehensive, and are subject to change between now and the launch of the expansion. It's also important to understand that some classes are currently further along in the development process than others, and as a result the amount of information will vary from class to class. Please do not let this frustrate you should your class be amongst those which are on the "lighter" side of things, as all classes will receive the same level of design attention before the expansion is released. Additionally we'll be providing more information for all classes, especially as we move into the beta phase.
Below is the schedule for each class:
Shaman - April 7
Priest - April 7
Warlock - April 7
Warrior - April 8
Death Knight - April 8
Rogue - April 8
Hunter - April 9
Druid - April 9
Mage - April 9
Paladin - April 16*
These posts are being coordinated internationally so they'll be posted at different times throughout the day and night on the given dates to give players around the world the ability to see posts made at a convenient time. This thread will be updated with links directly to each class preview as they're posted.
*The paladin is still deep in development. Instead of giving a preview that would be potentially less comprehensive than the other classes we made the decision to post it when it's ready, in order to properly honor the paladin class and those that play them. The wait isn't too long however as we're expecting to be able to post it on April 16.

"Paladins? Especially RETADINs, when in arena and you see any opponent with the name ghost, crawler, crab, or any variation of Shrimp in the name - STOP - do not faceroll - play dead or better yet just DIE.
To the ground Baby!"
Wow...somebody sucks in arena.
Any arena veteran worth his/her salt will tell you that retadin is one of the *weaker* arena classes. Don't believe me? Check the rankings. Or the recent pvp guide to fighting paladins on this very website. HOLY paladins are, by far, the most dangerous paladins to face in arena, which is why you see so many of them. Prot are no slouches, either. Ret have a bubble...and that's about it.
If think ret paladins, the most easily kited class in the game, are unstoppable in arena, you should stay away from arena. Far, far away.
As for "to the ground, baby": learn to play your class and you won't have to whine for nerfs to others.

My reaction was /cry.
I'm flying cross-country tomorrow.
Maybe if it comes out first thing I'll be able to read before my flight...

Woah boy, pallies have the one date that's apart from the others, you know what that means folks. They could well be nerfed to the ground but maybe we will be saved by...
Faceroll Man!

On a side note - I'm very excited for Priests and hopefully they will pull "Lesser Heal" and "Heal from our spellbook since neither of those spells are used past level 40.

ret is actually way under-represented in arena. you're scared of rets? you make me giggle.
idiot.

I'd be more excited to see them reinstated as staple heals!

Still in development my ass... they're just building hype for the Cataclysm announcements of the games (current) most popular class. Blizz are total drama queens!

@ christian_588
Little man is a little touchy about his little class getting nerf'd. Stop pawning GC in arena and maybe you will get a little love. Pallies are over-represented for a reason and it is not because of their great tanking and healing abilities. Make sense to you little boy?
clundgren Apr 6th 2010 12:23PM
You're dreaming if you think they're going to nerf one of the weaker, currently underrepresented arena classes.
If you are losing to ret paladins (lol) with a fricken PRIEST, you need to stop doing pvp altogether.

Even though i might have offended some paladins out there, i would like to say that i am one (retadin). In reality retadins (in pve, which is my specialty, things could well be different for pvp) have an as complex if not in some cases more complex dps rotation then other dps specs. They are easy to level but so are other classes like hunters or druids (I have leveled these classes to 80 as well.) Also a retadin's dps, as a hybrid class will never beat pure dpsers like locks, mages or rogues. Also as an example (there are others as well) the arcane mage has to press two buttons (and if you think otherwise then you should also realise that paladins are thought of like this, which is blatantly untrue,) so from the perspective of pve retadins our only as overpowered as your next talent tree.

Holy frickin'.. talk about unexpected. Didn't think we'd see some info like this anytime soon..
I like.

Why does the paladin post being delayed have me really worried...
Maleven Apr 6th 2010 3:33AM
It says why right there.
Res Apr 6th 2010 8:08AM
Hopefully it means they're working on some varied spell effects or maybe an AOE heal finally. :)
Muse Apr 6th 2010 8:39AM
Same as before Wrath. It's the most complicated class to get right, so they'd rather take the time and announce what they're actually doing, instead of announce something they *might* be doing but then might change their minds about.
From someone who was front seat during the whole pre-Wrath roller-coaster ride for paladins... taking their time is a GOOD thing. (I know it might not feel like it after being the most under-developed class for four years before that, but.... roller-coasters, yeah)
Al Apr 7th 2010 2:43AM
I'd like to be excited about the time gap, but the Paladin Q&A was at the end as well..
Maybe they're just working on an asinine statement to troll us again. I refuse to believe "JoJ is a gap-closer" was straight-faced.
