Bashiok -- Cataclysm class change previewsBeginning Wednesday, April 7 we will begin releasing class previews containing an overview of some of the changes currently being planned for each of the 10 World of Warcraft classes. The type of information you can expect from these posts are a list of the new spells from 80-85, the new passive mastery bonuses for all talent trees, a brief outline of some of the talent changes we're currently planning, and in some cases new low level spells for select classes.
These changes will by no means be comprehensive, and are subject to change between now and the launch of the expansion. It's also important to understand that some classes are currently further along in the development process than others, and as a result the amount of information will vary from class to class. Please do not let this frustrate you should your class be amongst those which are on the "lighter" side of things, as all classes will receive the same level of design attention before the expansion is released. Additionally we'll be providing more information for all classes, especially as we move into the beta phase.
Below is the schedule for each class:
Shaman - April 7
Priest - April 7
Warlock - April 7
Warrior - April 8
Death Knight - April 8
Rogue - April 8
Hunter - April 9
Druid - April 9
Mage - April 9
Paladin - April 16*
These posts are being coordinated internationally so they'll be posted at different times throughout the day and night on the given dates to give players around the world the ability to see posts made at a convenient time. This thread will be updated with links directly to each class preview as they're posted.
*The paladin is still deep in development. Instead of giving a preview that would be potentially less comprehensive than the other classes we made the decision to post it when it's ready, in order to properly honor the paladin class and those that play them. The wait isn't too long however as we're expecting to be able to post it on April 16.

yay, warlocks first day. Yay, paladins... pending.
I'm excited to see what's up. The dispel mechanics posts were interesting, as well. Should be good reads.

Once again, it looks like Boubouille nailed it when he said beta in April. I stopped being surprised about him being right though.
Gothia Apr 6th 2010 4:21AM
Nothing new this guy is simply amazing and has an inside track to the Devs or just great Karma.
Leviathon Apr 6th 2010 4:24AM
Almost anyone could tell you the Alpha/Beta was going to start in April.

@ Leviathon
No.
Only a secret agent would be able to read the subtle signs and tell us when beta would happen. THAT means Boubouille must be a-

Or what makes the most sense... He makes alot of money off the ads from his site (hard to find a WoW player who doesn't visit the site a couple of times a day) and he pays people for information.

Only God knows everything, and he works for the Moss... MMO-Champion.

Prepare for the gnashing of teeth and rending of garments.

Sackcloth and ashes, baby!
But on a more serious note... Looks like yet another big paladin overhaul incoming... How many are we up to now? 3? 4?

QQ inc
Sadly this happens EVERY TIME they do ANYTHING that has to do with class. "Bug fix: fixed so Tabards display properly with robes." "QQ: I LIEK SEEING THE SKIRT!!!1! GC DIAF"
Not sure whether to /groan or /sob.

Of course, the class I love the most is the one that isn't gonna be shown for a long time. X3
Moonfaxx Apr 6th 2010 3:45AM
I know, two days does seem like a long time. But fear not, our mage day will come. ;)
Duk4o Apr 6th 2010 3:38AM
Have to change pants again...
But seriously I can't wait. And what's up with palas - another big revamp?

Warlock - Buffed! Their Fear spell lasts for 10 minutes. Only on Mage Classes.
Warrior - Rage, Rage, Rage, Rage....... SHUTUP! Have unlimited ability to Charge against Mages
Death Knight - Improved Face-roll abilities against Mages

So... you play a mage, then?
Banndit Apr 6th 2010 4:02AM
... and a bad one too.
Aureliusz Apr 6th 2010 4:12AM
Cool story bro.
KJP Apr 6th 2010 7:47AM
Gee thanks, I'd just decided that Daily Blink "Mage" panel didn't know what it was talking about and now this. Way to make a guy feel proud of his class.
andy Apr 6th 2010 8:52AM
I know it might come as a surprise but some of us actually enjoy playing a mage and think we're in a good (if not mildly overpowered) state right now!
not all of us bind every key to summon QQ (rank 3)
