I understand the bit about not having to many sacred cows (no pun intended) but I worry about classes becoming so mushy that class mechanics become just fluff covering a boring sameness. Removing Druid immunity to polymorph while shapeshifted isn't just about class mechanics. It's at the heart of what makes a Druid a druid. If a Druid can be polymorphed than what is shapeshifting exactly? Why do we do it? What advantage does it have in the game? Replacing this with talents doesn't address the underlying logic. In many ways, it is a nerf in lore terms. Mages in essence (to use the D&D terms) have Polymorph Other while Druid's have Polymorph Self. I always thought that the Druid shapeshifting was something much deeper and profound than a Polymorph Self spell.

"Removing Druid immunity to polymorph while shapeshifted... [is] at the heart of what makes a Druid a druid."Wow, there was me thinking that a protean hybrid nature-based essence was at the heart of the druid. Turns out it's all about polymorph immunity. Hear that, druids? Your entire existence is defined by one mage spell!"If a Druid can be polymorphed than what is shapeshifting exactly? Why do we do it? "Something of an over-exaggeration, surely. You don't seriously mean that when a druid goes bear form the only reason he does it is to avoid a polymorph?"it is a nerf in lore terms."Yes, well, lollore. Lore has always been twisted to make room for gameplay mechanics; to list all the silly examples would take hours. Please stop the over-reaction. They only said they might "reconsider" the issue. Honestly.

You spoiled kids! Back in my day, we piled a lot of Sorceresses to take on opposing armies of heavy infantry, especially Druids (of the Claw/Talon)! It had a range of 50! It only cost 220 mana, and always lasted 60 seconds unless dispelled!None of this "Only works on Beasts, Humanoids and Critters." nonsense! During the third war, you could use it on Air, Ground, Non Hero, Enemy, or Organic. Any time one of our Knights or Abominations got it re-cast on them, there was no "diminishing returns"! We got the full 60 second duration refreshed AND WE LIKED IT!Now all you trees and bears and cats are running around willy-nilly, thinking you should be given all the advantages of mechanical class units, summoned units, and creeps over level 5 with none of the drawbacks?! Bushwah!----On a more serious note, more people than you'd expect don't realize there were other Warcraft games that came before, which the World of WARCRAFT was based on. Polymorph is considered OP now, but remember that it used to be even more OP, and to be honest I haven't seen a good argument why Druids should be immune to something that affects level 1 critters to Death Knights to level 82 elites in Ulduar.
