Upcoming Flurry buff for enhancement shaman

We agree with some of the recent discussion about Enhancement dps. We are going to hotfix a change to the Flurry talent to increase it from 25% to 30% attack speed with 5 ranks.
We also agree that Enhancement may have survivability problems and understand that players don't necessarily feel they can afford the bonus Stamina from the Toughness talent, at least in PvE. We don't have an immediate change to deploy here, but it's something we'd like to fix and a candidate for future patches.

Good news for enhancers everywhere. Hopefully the upcoming Cataclysm class changes preview will hold a lot more of it for you guys, and all types of shaman, for that matter.

Yay. Some love for Enhancement Shaman.
I'm tired of seeing patches with no changes to Enhancement.
What I'd really like though is for Magma Totem's duration to be increased. I guess it'd be slightly overpowered but I keep forgeting to recast it. Mea Culpa

Dispel nerfs for all Shamans announced yesterday, buff for enhancement Shamans today, big announcements for Shamans scheduled for tomorrow...
Blizzard just has me on this big Shamany emotional roller coaster!
clundgren Apr 6th 2010 4:07PM
Yay for the Shamen. They need a little love.

This is a reversal of a nerf on flurry earlier in LK. Not so much love as fixing something they broke.
nekorion Apr 6th 2010 4:10PM
at least they're aware that we have stamina problems compared to every single melee dps.
The frost DK buffs made it glaringly obvious we need love :/

No Offense to blizzard here but, "We also agree that Enhancement may have survivability problems and understand that players don't necessarily feel they can afford the bonus Stamina from the Toughness talent, at least in PvE." This was a problem in Ulduar and is still a problem now. Shamans in general have always been the lowest HP class to play, its sad that at the end of the expansion they acknowledge that even with the slight buff they gave them in ulduar 1200hp or something like that, it is still a problem and they don't have a solution for it.

For a second there, I thought that said "Furry buff"...
jealouspirate Apr 6th 2010 4:51PM
Obviously in reference to the addition of Dwarven Shamans.
Lucidique Apr 6th 2010 4:56PM
I read that as well. Environmetally damaged, from too much internet trolling, I suspect.

Where is the Elemental Shaman love???
Wowcoholic Apr 6th 2010 4:50PM
We got some love in the last patch. Too bad it was under the hybrid tax....
imf00001 Apr 6th 2010 4:52PM
Amen! I love playing my Elemental Turret!

Every time I see Enhancement I think of Enhance.....type type type......Enhance....type type type
DTpwnz Apr 6th 2010 5:05PM
YES! Finally I will beat the hunters and rogues!
Pyromelter Apr 6th 2010 7:58PM
Only if your hunter's and rogues are terribads in blues or something.
5% to flurry, even if it's a straight up 5% increase to shaman dps (which I'm pretty sure it's not), will put enhance still way way way down, and it's not going to bring enhancers to heroic LK25 kills. Paragon's (world 1st and 2nd LK-H kill) main shaman has basically stated there is now no reason to bring an enhance to a progression raid, and this tiny buff isn't going to fix that.
Elementals are basically hosed at this point too. Their scaling is falling further, and further behind in ICC, despite the buffs that blizz gave. And because of the almighty arena, they can't buff Lava Burst or Overload anymore. I fear ele's and enhancers are gonna be totally left out until cata; ele's need a 4th spell in their rotation that can be used somehow, either a buff to earth shock, or maybe some kind of channeled frost, air, or earth type spell to keep things interesting.

Woo! About friggin' time their survivability was addressed. I remember complaining about this, and other classes pointing at "Toughness". That's a slap in the face; what other non-tanking class is forced into place 5 whole points into a 10% stam increase? One of the reasons Shaman are squishy is because dual-wielding takes off the 6-8k armor a shield would provide.
Although, to people claiming that Enhancement hasn't had a buff in a while, Fire Nova was a big buff to Enhancement AoE DPS, and the Flame Shock haste mechanic is a buff to single target DPS.

Why would someone say our survivability is lowered by not using a shield because of armor? Do you even raid? Or pvp for that matter? Shield won't stop the damage in raids because 99% of it is magical, and in pvp ArP is so popular it is getting ignored anyways.
What we need is to not be 5k lower than a rogue in health. 10k lower than a fury warrior...
The 5% flurry buff translates into a 2% or so dps buff which dosen't begin to address our issues with extremely low health or the fact that we are 10-20% lower than other hybrids not even mentioning pures.

Very cool. Not that I get to play my enh spec much these days (mainly do heroics and raids as resto), but it's still my first love when it comes to shammy specs.
I'd really like to see some solutions to shaman survivability. I think Toughness as a whole should get the axe. 4 Classes have a talent called Toughness, and the other three are DKs, Pallies, and Warriors; it's a tanking talent and a relic of when shammies were designed with tanking in mind. Either give it some DPS benefit, or remove the talent and put the 10% stamina into some other talent (perhaps one deeper into the enh tree, in case Blizz doesn't want ele or resto to get to it).
Of course, it could all be moot come Cataclysm. Who knows how our talents shake out, we might have more than enough free points to invest in some survivability and utility. I'm looking forward to speccing back into Improved Ghost Wolf, and maybe getting some points in Toughness or Elemental Warding.

FIX ELEMENTAL!!! CHRIST. MAKING FLAME SHOCK SCALE WITH HASTE DIDN'T DO SHIT!

Im officially not going to SLEEP tonight! OMG OMG OMG... PLEASE BLIZZARD! give shaman a chance! let us shine! SHINE, I say!. You hurt us then send flowers... please dont toy with us... pleaaaaaaaaaase! AAAAH!... ok... got that out of my system.
Wow, more flurry and more survivability on the horizon. It might be a stormy day (no pun intended) for shammies but there seems to be a bright shiny sky on the horizon... or is that a flaming dragon coming our way?
