Am I the only one pissed about the massive Mortal Strike nerf? I mean healers now can pretty much heal through it at 50% (without URA on) To bring it down to 20% a warrior can't really hope to bring down any healer. And with Enraged Regeneration on a 3 minute cooldown a healer will be able to put dots on you and heal himself, eventually killing you. I don't see how it will be possible to 1v1 any class that can heal itself anymore. Good job Blizzard..you're taking away what makes warriors viable in PvP.

quite bold to say things like that without knowing any numbers or playing Cata, live or beta.....

It's been said before and it'll be said again, Blizzard does not balance pvp around 1 vs 1 fights. The fact is you're not meant to be able to kill a healing class on your own, if they can't even keep themselves up then what's the point of bringing one into a battleground.Equally the change to 20% is to reflect the changes in healing in Cataclysm. Blizzard want us all to have much bigger health pools but the heals to be smaller, since the heals will naturally be smaller allowing some classes to then cut them in half would make healers non viable.

Either heals will need to get a massive nerf or the damage output from warriors need to get an increase. Otherwise it will be the same old crap over and over. Warriors have hard enough times as it is trying to take down dps with healing capabilities. I.E Ret pally (Who proc instant cast flash of lights) Enhancement Shaman (Who proc instant cast healing waves). When you take away the ability to cleave their healing, when it's hard to kill them as it is, you're taking away any chance of beating them.

On top of my original post, getting rid of Poleaxe and Mace specialization for a weakened, global sword specialization seems pretty lame. Seriously, a 5% chance to hit an extra attack that is half the damage? I'll take 5% critical strike over that any day. At half the damage with a geared PvPer that will hit pathetically weak. I really hope Blizzard knows what they're doing. Maybe increase the chance to proc to 10-15% because right now I wouldn't even waste one talent point into it.

Anyone arguing that warriors need a damage INCREASE right now is kind of hard to take seriously. If *warriors* need a damage increase, what about all the other melee classes?Your class is tops. Enjoy it, and stop with the QQ.

Meph, who says it's a 5% chance to proc? It's the third Mastery bonus, which scales with the number of talent points as well as the Mastery stat that will be found on gear. As they specifically said the swing would do 50% damage, the only way to scale that bonus through talents/stats is to up the proc chance.

You can't be serious Clund? Without a healer a warrior is one of the easiest classes to kill. And it's not hard to CC a healer in PvP. We have only a few defensive cooldowns that can save our asses once every 3-5 minutes. And the damage is on par with other melee classes right now, it's no higher or lower. If you think otherwise you need to stop playing.

I don't *think* otherwise, I *know* otherwise, because unlike you, apparently, I am capable of looking at the very public data for how classes are currently performing in DPS.The fact that fury warriors, in particular, are currently at the top of the charts is not a matter of debate. It is a matter of fact. If you think otherwise, you are living in a fantasyland where you like to find reasons to sit in the corner and QQ moar.At the end of WotLK, warriors are in great shape. No serious players dispute this. And I'm not complaining -- paladins and DKs had their moments, and now its the warriors turn to shine. Seems fair to me.But hearing a warrior QQ about dps right now is like hearing a paladin QQing a year ago. Comical.

Heals ARE getting a nerf. We'll have more health to play with, and thus heals will either be more expensive or heal for less total, meaning getting someone back to full quickly won't be easy in PvP or PvE. I think there will be more instances in Cata of DPS running around at half health more often because heals have to be selective about who they heal and about which heals to use.

Clund, I'm clearly talking about PvP, I couldn't care less about what happens to a Warrior in PvE. So your "statistics" that you pulled out of your ass mean nothing to me. KTHXBAI
4-08-2010 @ 1:52PM
Not wanting to get involved in the (Meph vs Clund) argument here, but Meph I believe was generally talking about P v P, I don't know where you think your right pulling fury statistics out in this discussion Clund?
4-08-2010 @ 1:57PM
Oh, my bad. I guess we should be talking about the dominance of Arms among melee classes in arenas, then. Or, for that matter, the fact that Fury dps is so extreme it basically invented the 2 healer 3v3 team.Anyway you slice it, warrior QQ is hard to take seriously.

Clund, the argument that Fury warriors are at the top of the DPS heap may be true, but this is only towards the end of the expansion, after being carried through most earlier raids until T9 and T10 gear started to grant sufficient strength and stats to overcome the nerf to Titan's Grip and change to Imp Berserker Stance. We start off as the weakest of the DPS in the beginning of an expansion and become insanely overpowered at the end because of how our gear scaling works. I would prefer a buff to overall damage with some way to keep the gear scaling insanity from getting completely out of whack in the end-of-expansion phases. Also, Meph is correct when he notes that the new extra weapon swing is a weakened version of current sword spec, which now hits for full 100% damage of a white swing. 50% damage now? No thank you. While we're on the topic, Heroic Leap looks nice but this was promised to us before and didn't go through. If you downrate Meph, hopefully it's for the tone of the original post, and not the substance.P.S. - Revert Warbringer!
