Operation: Gnomeregan Imminent
An Azeroth Bulletin has just been released announcing that Operation: Gnomeregan is imminent. High Tinker Mekkatorque wants you to join him in his fight to finally conquer Mekgineer Thermaplugg and his irradiated minions.
"Victory begins in Tinker Town" and "every man, woman and child" is called upon to serve! The staging ground for the offensive will be at SteelGrill's Depot under the command of Captain Sparknozzle. There you will undergo Drill Sergeant Steamcrank's training. You will also be testing the Mechano-Tanks before they go to the front line. Then you will bomb the irradiation vents under the command of Pilot Muzzlesprock.
All levels will be able to participate, whether by donating boar skins for siege pilot seats or helping to write the battle cry. But the actual offensive, when ready, will be limited to levels 75 and up, led by the High Tinker himself. For full details, read the Azeroth Bulletin.

That poster gives me a total nerdgasm.
WoW + My favorite design style = O.O
Okra Apr 8th 2010 11:03PM
sounds similar to that one time server event.. the War Effort, but alliance only?
Hivetyrant Apr 8th 2010 11:06PM
It's gonna be tough for them to beat that poster with an Echo isles version

+5 internets to Blizzard for melding WWII propaganda style with a "District 9" reference.
I can only hope Vol'jin's recruitment poster for us Darkspear is nearly as epic!
Kylenne Apr 8th 2010 11:29PM
Vol'jin's recruitment poster would probably look like the menu from Cheba Hut...those of you who are sadly unaware of the greatest of Cheba Hut, Google it. XD
I demand a Rosie the Riveter parody. Forgive the double negative but they can't NOT now.

@Kylenne - according to their website, they're opening one up in Berkeley.
Looking at their menu?
It can't happen soon enough!!! WANT!!! NOW!!!

Oh gods, my little gnome warrior is only level 40....MUST LEVEL.
Hermit Dew Apr 8th 2010 11:48PM
While I'm certainly glad my level 40 Gnome Mage gets her city back, I was afraid that once again Blizzard would be catering to only the upper echelon of the game (boar skins not withstanding...) As much as I love this game, as someone who has only been playing for just under a year, the vast majority of the content put forth in all the various patches really has no effect on my characters, the highest of which is level 60 (and not Alliance). It gets a bit frustrating since it all seems to be about raiding and level 80's. Maybe I'll feel different when I get there.

I AM there...and no, it doesn't.

Ok, if a massive Horde raid went right there and killed the entire Gnome army... they should all get achievements for insane Gnomeslaughter. I think I gonna roll Ally for this, looks awesome. Or just go there as a Hordie and try to help. Either way, it'd be fun.

"Thermaplugg is no trifling gnome, though his arrogance will be his undoing!"
I see what they did there.
Uri Apr 9th 2010 1:43AM
Oh this is a wonderful day, for so long my guild has had to put up with my dream of re-taking Gnomeregan.
I squee'ed like the Gnomish fan girl that I am.
I can see if now, waves of slightly wonky Mechno Choppers flying over the horizon (to the sounds of apocalypse now), Armies of Gnomes rushing in, making those Troggs quake in their boots..
FOR GNOMEREGAN!

isn't it about time we saw some statues of gnomes about the place.. they're freaking awesome!
Furydeath Apr 9th 2010 2:57AM
Do we get to build our own V-07-TR-0N?
jfofla Apr 9th 2010 3:53AM
I left the alliance mid BC for the Horde, but now I have to dust off my NE Druid and get her to 75 so I can see both events.
Pat Apr 9th 2010 4:02AM
If all goes well and the Gnomes take back there city. Ironforge may just become the new Exodar.
Gnomeregan could have it's own port/deep run terminal if they chose to continue digging through the mountains towards water.
This could also replace Menethil Harbour I suppose.
