Choose My Adventure: To PvP or not to PvP?

We're on fire! Armaya sent in the above screenshot of Faience, Elizabeth Harper's shaman. But really, we're not so much on fire, leveling-wise. We are level 11 and above. This makes us just old enough to go into Warsong Gulch, but too young to think of Ragefire Chasm for the next week.
You have already chosen The Barrens for our questing location during these next few levels, so this week's polls will be about adding PvP into the mix and choosing the professions for Amy Schley's rogue. Matthew Rossi is joining us next week and is giving you a chance to choose his class and race. We also have an extra-special, probably meaningless poll that you'll have to click through to see.
First, tell us if we should take breaks from slaughtering the fauna of The Barrens to slaughter the Alliance in Warsong Gulch.
| Yes! Mix it up with PvP! | |
|---|---|
| No. Stick to PvE questing. |
While Elizabeth Harper and I have already chosen our professions, Amy Schley would like you to choose the professions for her troll rogue, Patent.

| Blacksmithing/Mining | |
| Engineering/Mining | |
| Enchanting/Gathering (state which one in the comments) | |
| Jewelcrafting/Mining | |
| Tailoring/Enchanting | |
| Other combination. Please state what combination in the comments below and why. |
Matthew Rossi would like you to choose from races and classes he doesn't normally play. The race will choose the class.
| Troll | |

| Blood Elf | |
| Undead |
| Rogue | |

| Hunter | |
| Mage |
And now for the extra-special, probably meaningless poll. Our writers have very busy schedules and not everyone can join us for Choose My Adventure, no matter how much they would like to. So we are not promising anything, but we'd like to know which WoW.com staffers you would like to join our adventures. (Really, we might as well title this "Vote for WoW.com Prom Queen!" or "WoW.com Idol." But since the current participants are not included in the poll, it wouldn't be quite fair.)

Here is our ongoing gallery, chronicling our adventures. If you have a good screenshot of the Choose My Adventure fun that you would like to contribute, please scale it to 1024 pixels wide and send it to robin@wow.com.
Polls close on Sunday and we'll post the results on Monday. See you at The Crossroads!

I chose Enchanting/Leatherworking for professions.
The reason behind this is to give a better understanding of how difficult it is to level a manufacturing profession without the corresponding gathering skill. This might be a no brainer, but for those of us who switched professions on reaching the level cap (60) to have a more marketable end game skill (at 60)-- it has now been our reality through 2 expansions all the way to the new level caps (70/80).
Enchanting provides great bonuses while leveling and a good way to dispose of leftover gear. Unfortunately in exchange it also demands all your other gear as well.
Leatherworking is an excellent choice for a rogue; however, you will need to find a source for the leather. This can be a great example of working out true trades with others. Now enchanting in front of the bank, free when you supply leather anyone?

I would like to see Mr Fox Van Allen playing a gnome XD
Fox Van Allen Apr 12th 2010 8:51AM
Ohhhhhhhh boy, I'd love to play a gnome! But gosh darn, the choose-my-adventure thing is totally limited to Horde! Shucks! :(
I'd otherwise be so looking forward to wandering around Loch Modan as some gnome named "Sprinkles Swizzlespunk" or something stupid like that. It'd be fun to watch crocolisks eat it over and over and over again.

I think that gnome could maybe be considered a "martyr" :P

i thought i was the only one who played troll rogues.
Go Engineering and JC

More people should be voting for Frostheim! (aka Brian Wood). He is god to all us hunters, and it'd be wicked hilarious to see him play anything that doesn't shoot from a distance with a short stature and beard.

Rich Maloy's main spec is enhance, and his off spec is enhance. Wow.com's main man is Rich Maloy, and their off man is Rich Maloy. Any questions?
Crowqueen Apr 10th 2010 4:27AM
My rogue is Mining/JC, so that's what I voted.

Level in PvP, it will be hard, frustrating and fun (for us ;)).
Rogue; take mining and BS. I'm feeling evil >:-D
And Mr. Rossi should play a caster, and Archmage Pants for warlock.

Mmm. I pick PVP and PVE, mix it up a bit. Been PVPing on Armaya on and off all day, it's pretty good, and we tend to win a lot.
I can't even remember waht I voted for..either BE or Undead Rogue... Hmm.
