Phat Loot Phriday: Reins of the Cobalt War Talbuk

It was a beautiful creature, no doubt. With hair shimmering in the Nagrand sun, glowing like the tips of an angel's wing, the creature pranced and danced on the edges of the elemental plateau. My eyes has never seen something so wonderful and pure. I had come here on the words of Michael Belfast, a good drinking buddy of mine in old Stratholme. (Before the tragedy, of course.)
I was clearly already pleased with the sight of it. The Cobalt War Talbuk -- in the wild -- showed the kind of perfect, precise self-grooming that Michael had described. And then? And then, it began to sing.
I could not tell you, fellow adventurer, if it sang to find a mate, to announce its presence, or simply to bring a bit more beauty in the world. But when this talbuk sang, the angels sang with it. Even looking back on my first encounter with this wonderful beast of beauty, traitor tears dribble down my cheeks.
It also tasted marvelous with a bit of kodo gravy. What? I am Hemet Nesingwary.

I personally prefer the White War Talbuk. Something about it seems more elegant.
Heilig Apr 9th 2010 10:57PM
It's the purple horns.
MusedMoose Apr 9th 2010 11:17PM
Ditto what Heilig said. My White War Talbuk with its purple horns matches my purple-skinned white-haired draenei perfectly.
And by "perfectly," I mean, "both have purple horns," of course. ^_^

Indeed, the white war Talbuk is so majestic and elegant. I find this timing quite funny seeing as I only got exalted, and therefore the talbuks, the other day. They were also the last mounts I needed for the white dragon.

I prefer the plain Cobalt Talbuk personally, the armor hides its elegance.

I like my White Riding Talbuk best of the bunch. One of the best ground models in game.
Marshal Apr 9th 2010 10:19PM
Yep! I love it too.

Honestly the best ground mount in the game, in my opinion. The Talbuks in general are just INSANELY majestic, I hate how the armor hides their natural beauty, and the white one specifically is just so regal, pure and pristine. Absolutely gorgeous.

I have this on both my draenei pally and undead shadow priest (although it's been superseded on the pally by the Mekengineer's Chopper). It is the most beautiful goat creature in all of Draenor.

Oh, I wouldn;t say that, there are many, many pretty Dranei ladies over there! ;)

I found the Kurenai rep grind quite easy for some reason.
If only I used it, stupid Huntsman's reins and Argent Charger, why must you guys look so bad ass.
elstor Apr 9th 2010 11:05PM
I did in back in the day where when you were 80, they only gave 1-2 rep because of being lower level than you. THAT was bad stuff, basically the only rep was from the beads. Thank god they got rid of reduced rep though
Banic Rhys Apr 9th 2010 11:21PM
As did I.
Evelinda Apr 10th 2010 5:15AM
the mag'har is even easier (horde get more quests)... which is good, because i have a serious obsession with talbuks, and i'm forced to get to exalted on every char i bring to outland, and thats led me to do the grind 10 times so far. At least its still reasonable xp when youre in your mid 60's :)
Marshal Apr 9th 2010 10:18PM
I love watching my Draenei on his Talbuk. They make such an awesome duo.
farseer-lolotea Apr 10th 2010 6:02AM
You know that's where the term "space goat" originally came from, right?
Namy Apr 10th 2010 9:10AM
I have the talbuk for my nelf but couldn't decide whether to grind it on my draenei because of the whole leg spread thing! They don't look odd then? I hate how her legs stick out either side of anything but the elekk and saber :P
GrumblyStuff Apr 9th 2010 10:20PM
Talbuks! :D
The grind isn't hard and I got a ton of netherweave bags out of it. Save all that Oshu'gun Crystal Powder! You'll need 350 for both of the dark talbuks.
I'm not sure if the warlock glitch still works though. It sure saved me a lot of time.
The glitch requires that your side hold Halaa. If a warlock suicides with lifetap+hellfire, she/he and anyone in their party gets a battle token. I'm not sure if it works in raid groups but I bet it does. Do this at the graveyard and be sure to leave all the gear in the bank.
GrumblyStuff Apr 9th 2010 10:28PM
Doh. Seems that the glitch was fixed a couple patches ago. Looks like you'll have to harass lowbies until they get their 80s.
