See this is what I don't understand. While she is singing an high-elf song all of her words and the flashbacks are about HER HATE. She has just said that she doesn't give a rat's hoo-ha about what might have happened to her sister and she replays the horror she endured at Arthas' hands.

I'm not sure what about that experience shows any emotional depth there. I do want to understand what other people are seeing here that I am not. She sounds lovely, yes but it is very much in keeping with this stone-cold-beech persona she's shown before.
