WRUP: Catching them all edition

WRUP is generally a weekly feature telling you what the cast and crew of WoW.com is up to this weekend, but you should only be concerned about one game: Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver. Because that's all I care about. Don't you want to be the very best?
In the event that you do care about what other people think, though, here are our responses, with more after the break.
- Adam Holisky (@adamholisky): I'm drinking. A lot of drinking. Too much drinking? Probably.
- Alex Ziebart (@alexziebart): I was weaning myself off of Mass Effect 2, but the Kasumi DLC and the ridiculous population explosion over at Cerberus Daily News dragged me right back in. Plus I started playing Plants vs. Zombies this week, so I'm actually addicted to two games simultaneously. I aim to figure out whether I can shoot vorcha on my PC while I shoot bucketheads on my laptop or not. My zen garden is totally prettier than yours, by the way.
- Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert): I'm experiencing my third consecutive year of horrible internet issues and will likely be spending the weekend wondering why I am (yet again!) experiencing 10-second lag pockets ingame on a regular basis.
- Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey): Lich King! Again. Other than that, catching up on TV that I've missed because Hulu is my friend, and planting things in that mysteriously bright location known as 'outside.'
- Amy Schley (@wowlawbringer): Going to be leveling my study skills mostly, but I might spend a little time with my husband leveling up our Horde toons. The Prot Pally/mage combo works really well, even on red quests.
- Basil Berntsen (@outdps): Going to fire up my inscription army of alts again, and see if I can wring money from a stone dead glyph market. If it works, I'll write about it!
- Chase Christian (@madsushi): Doing some mercenary work (selling a Yogg+1 run) and hopefully knocking out a few more ICC hard modes. That, and waiting for this damned 3G iPad to come out.
- Dan O'Halloran: My weekly LotRO forays are leading me into 3-man Sword Halls, Vol II Epilogue quest clean up and more crafting on alts. I'm laying off the iPhone games this week so I can get through the new Dresden novel, Changes. In WoW, I'll be running random heroics to gear up my druid in cat gear.
- Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb): Finally not procrastinating on my taxes, so that may take up all my time usually set up for gaming, unfortunately. We'll see! On plus side, birthday bash for a friend.
- Dawn Moore (@wowdawn): LK heroic attempts, writing, and the D.C. Cherry Blossom Festival. Sadly, I think the rain will have spoiled all the blossoms.
- Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen): I got my elemental shaman alt to level 68, but instead of Northrend, I'm feel like running more BC instances. I just did Botanica last night, and I feel this craving for more. Come on, who wants to run Arcatraz with me?! We'll totally grind Scryer rep. I'll be a "blast."
- Gregg Reece: I'm hoping to play some Warmachine this weekend with my friend as well as try out my set of Hordes figures I got to see how I like the difference in casting systems. Other than that, I'll probably run my druid through a couple dungeons to try and get him near level 80 before Cataclysm hits. I might have some free time between baby feedings and diaper changings to get some StarCraft II beta testing in. Sunday, I'm tanking Icecrown yet again.
- Joe Perez (@Lodurzj): Another fun weekend ahead of me, this time spending more time in Dawn of War II: Chaos Risingtrying to plow through the story campaign, also started up my old EVE Online habits and looking to build an empire of very nice ships to sell off for vast wealth! The work of a capsuleer is never done! After that planning on diving back into ICC 25 and if I can find someone to partner up with for some 2v2 SC2 action I'll be doing that a little bit as well.
- Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra): Doing Argent Tourney stuff for the first time (yes, yes, I know), and sloooowwwly saving up for my next piece of T10. Eagerly awaiting druid changes. Hoping to also get some Torchlight and Zeno Clash in there at some point.
- Lisa Poisso (@emused): Trying to keep my desktop system turned off the entire weekend. Any writing, editing or gaming must be done from the laptop on the couch. Any bets on how far I'll get with that?
- Matt Low (@matticus): Nothing. I've run out of games to play. Might take a weekend off WoW or something. Slowly brushing up on the new Rise of the Eldrazi set for M:tG (since the pre-release is next week). Also thinking long term of whatCataclysm raiding will be like with all these new changes!
- Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo): Praying I get to raid this weekend. Still would love a permanent spot in a raid. Still WoW unemployed, but doing temp work! Other than that, busy weekend with friends and family.
- Michael Gray (@writegray): Friday/Saturday: Rencon, Saturday night: Sekrit WoW.com project, Sunday: Seeing Tran-Siberian Orchestra.
- Michael Sacco (@mikesacco): CATCHING THEM ALL. ALL OF THEM
- Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel): My Zen Garden is SO much prettier than yours, Alex. Other than my continuing addiction to PvZ, I will be tailoring pretty new outfits for Robinemia and practicing making things sparkle with enchanting this weekend. I'll also be playing Star Trek Online alone and Lego Universe beta with The Spawn.
- Tyler Caraway (@Murmurs): I will be hosting a balance druid roundtable discussion panel this Sunday at 6 PM EST on my vent server. Any and all balance druids are welcome to join in as we discus the released Cata information. There will not be punch nor pie, but it will still be totally awesome. Email me at tyler@wow.com or send a PM to me at themoonkinrepository.com to get the vent info.
How about you, dear readers? What are you playing?

World of Warcraft? What's World of Warcraft?
How did I find my way onto this site again?
I remember nothing before the existence of Heart Gold.
*dazes back out, wanders away* Must go back to playing Pokemon...

@Dawn Moore
I actually got to see the festival last year, it was really beautiful.
Sigh...those were better times.
Vaeku Apr 10th 2010 9:25AM
Hah, never noticed that those looked like Pokeballs. I will never look at the Exodar the same way again.
On another note, the classic Pokemon games were the best.
BoB Apr 10th 2010 9:29AM
Pokemon all the way. But now I'm stuck on the Eevee evolutions Kimino Girls at the Dance Hall. Anyone else using th Pokewalker much?

I was at a friends place last night and she had one... shaking it all night long... I swear it looked like she was jacking off the entire night...

I just got my Noblegarden meta achievement on my level 13 mage, after much corpse dragging, ghost running, and searching for a female dwarf. Since it appears one needs to defeat King Ymiron to get the Children's Week meta, I guess what I'll be doing is levelling like a mad thing. It is fitting, after all, that an arcane mage ride a purple dragon, and I intend to have it. Even if I am levelling as frost.

I try to do my best.

Did I fall asleep?

Alas, I wish I were playing FFXIII....Kinda heading towards a WotLK burnout.
Good thing I've got a dual-60th birthday dinner tonight for some theatre friends, and a show opening next weekend.
Something different to do once in a while is a good thing.

Alright fine, I give up. I must honestly be the only person in the world who never got into Pokemon. I know the game was fun, but I just haaaaaaaaaated the show as a kid, I just couldn't stand it. Like for all of the Cataclysm class previews someone mentioned something from pokemon and everyone was like "omg pokemon vote comment up!!" and I'm like "uh whats pokemon?" and I get downrated into darkness...
I will play Pokemon over the weekend, I will play it, and I will like it?
brian Apr 10th 2010 5:01PM
Do you like to collect achievements, minipets, pets, or just about anything else in WoW? Then you'll like pokemon.
You get to build a team of vicious gladiatorial fighters out of random elementally aligned animals, and kick the crap out of random people that try to fight you. Pure awesome.
Shiro_Shishi Apr 10th 2010 6:08PM
Don't forget that you also bully them into submission so much that they give you "prize" money!
:)

get a DS (emulators are overrated and ts worth the money, trust me) get the game, play for like 20hours, fall in love, play for like 20 more hours (if your good and don't lose), get three guys to level 50 start playing online (get peoples friend codes, its easy just post yours online and they will add you!!), pwn little kids because they have no concept of strategy, and then feel like a total badass (until you get some guy who knows what they are doing and rapes you).

Getting addicted to Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Either I'm really good at it or other people suck because its my 3rd day of playing multiplayer and I'm getting 2x the score of the second place person
Adeany Apr 10th 2010 12:24PM
I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST
LIKE NO ONE EVER WAS
TO CATCH THEM IS MY REAL TEST
TO TRAIN THEM IS MY CAUSE
I WILL TRAVEL ACROSS THE LAND
SEARCHING FAR AND WIDE
TEACH POKÉMON TO UNDERSTAND
THE POWER THAT'S INSIDE
brian Apr 10th 2010 5:04PM
If you have a Pokemon, and I have a Pokemon, and I have a Pokeball. My Pokeball reaches acrooooooooss the room, and I CATCH YOUR POKEMON! I CATCH THEM ALL!
Sharvis Apr 10th 2010 12:59PM
@Basil: Please do share your take on the glyph market. I have the worst luck trying to sell glyphs as there's fierce competition and just not much demand with too much supply. I've tried putting up glyphs at reasonable prices since others were charging exorbitant amounts and next thing I know, someone pulls their auctions and re-lists their glyphs to undercut me a little bit. It's insane! I've come to loathe the profession because of how unprofitable it feels and you get left with tons of glyphs sitting in your bags.
