I'd be happy if Chakra has more flavor than "you cast 3 heals, now your direct heals are 20% bigger." Like, maybe:"You cast 3 heals, now your direct heals also heal another target for a percentage of the healing done""You cast 3 heals, now your direct heals cause the target to take 10% less damage" "You cast 3 heals, now your direct heals proc radiance on 4 other targets"Also, i want the name changed. Eff that name, srsly

My mum (being the annoying naive hippy she is) practives this thing called reiki, and while I don't have any particular interest in it, that word chakra always seems to come up. I believe they're some kind "spiritual energy focuses" or something similarly irritating. Also, I think the reiki thing is meant to be some kid of "healing" technique, so I guess it would be a suitable name for a priest ability. Still, I do find that entire new-age-stuff-ecroaching-on-our-fantasy-MMO thing really annoying.

My step mom used to be a massage therapist, and does Reiki too. She did it for me once some time ago. I don't know if it helped the healing, but I certainly felt my arm go from normal to suddenly feeling like I'd had a heat pad on it, without her touching me. It was interesting. =oAnyway, Reiki and Chakra aren't new concepts, but they don't really fit for priests is all that bothers me. I find the mechanics really interesting though.

"Chakra" may sound a little out of place amongst our Hymns and Prayers, but it makes far more sense in terms of the in-game religion than Hymns and Prayers do, in my opinion. The Light and the reverence thereof has a whole lot more in common with Buddhism, Taoism, and other internally-reflecting religions than it does with Western theistic ones.

At least by calling it Chakra, they do two things. They establish that Priests are more Spiritual than Divine. And they crush any hopes of a Monk class.

Well... I agree with Deathknighty; Chakra is a strange name for a priest spell, and I don't even feel the ability Blizzard has in mind has anything to do with what chakra's in reality are. There isn't such a thing as activating 3 chakra's and boom: you are Superman. I think Blizzard would be better off choosing traditional high church names. A name like Vow of Purity for instance: by casting three aoe spells you "vow" to become a pure AoE healer for a while, or Prayer of Determination, stuff like that.

What's wrong with some eastern flavour in a western game?Nothing?

Nothing wrong with Eastern flavor. It's just that to start applying Eastern influenced spells this late (the priest class has been cemented into Western influences for 5+ years now) would muddle our class flavor further. My major complaint is that priests are a hodgepodge of things, and with the addition of Chakra, it would get worse. It would be different if we had some class quest that took us to the Pandaren to learn a new way of healing. But that will likely never happen.

@DawnIf priests learn how to use Chakra from the Pandaren, I will be 100% for it.Pandaren Priests....Oh my goodness I hope this happens.
