Paladin class preview schedule change

The patient Paladins that have been awaiting the Paladin class previews have some very good news on the EU forums. The Paladin class preview that was previously scheduled for Friday, April 16th has been bumped forward to Wednesday, April 14th. For those of us in the US, that could very well be today. The blue post from the EU forums:
WryxianWe are thankful for all the paladins and their patience in having to wait just a bit longer than others to get their Cataclysm class preview. While we had initially announced that we were planning to post the Paladin preview on Friday, April 16, we can now reveal that it will instead be posted on Wednesday, April 14!
Will Paladins see Radiance Aura as a full-fledged ability, or does Blizzard have something else up their sleeves for the Light-swingers? We'll be posting the Paladin class information once it's live -- a little sooner than expected. In the meantime, check out the other class previews, changes, and analysis in WoW.com's Guide to Cataclysm.

Someone was watching The Big Bang Theory last night, weren't they... hmm? :P
Avashnea Apr 13th 2010 8:44AM
Let's hope they don't screw pallies like they did resto druids..
rplkleynhans Apr 13th 2010 9:07AM
I hope they burn palas to the ground. Stupid easy mode class
Muse Apr 13th 2010 9:17AM
I love the fact that everyone is overlooking that this means the information will be even more emphasised as on being, "the general direction we'd like to take the class in" rather than concrete thoughts like with the other classes.
Killchrono Apr 13th 2010 9:18AM
Judging by the comments, half the posters are thinking Blizz is going to kick the dog on this one when all the other class changes have been awesome, while the other half are hating on those people.
Can't we just have one paladin change that doesn't result in massive amounts of QQ from either pallies or other classes?
Avashnea Apr 13th 2010 9:27AM
All the other class changes have been awesome?
Apparently, you didn't read the druid changes.
Avashnea Apr 13th 2010 9:29AM
Ignore that comment..misread the OP lol
Boobah Apr 13th 2010 9:38AM
That's because no matter what Blizzard says, half the commenters are going to feel that they got the boot AGAIN, and the other half are going to claim that these changes will be awesome.
A whole lot of other people won't be moved to comment at all; they'll be a mix of disappointed, apprehensive, cautiously optimistic, and apathetic. They'll be the vast majority, as always.

Those vampires in twilight should turn their radiance aura off im sure shadow protection aura would work better
rplkleynhans Apr 13th 2010 9:43AM
Burn them to the ground i say
Fletcher Apr 13th 2010 9:48AM
That's the second time you've posted words to that effect; and I'm sure you can see that your first try garnered no response and was downvoted. I'm left thinking that you have no purpose in this thread but to fish for some kind of reaction to validate your need for attention.
If you had provided some kind of cogent analysis of why you think paladins are an "easy mode class" (a mantle that seems to have been shifted from the shoulders of death knights, who inherited it from hunters) and your thoughts on how Blizzard could change the class to alleviate these perceived flaws in Cataclysm, your post(s) might have garnered more positive reactions. As it is, I'm left with only two words;
Begone, troll.

Not living in the US time zones are a bit confusing. Say they release the paladin preview at the same time as the others. What time would that be in Europe (GMT+0)?
rplkleynhans Apr 13th 2010 9:51AM
u now i been told. nerf nerf nerf!!!
Fletcher Apr 13th 2010 9:56AM
And now you're spamming. WTB Hammer of Mod.
rplkleynhans Apr 13th 2010 10:04AM
But seriously dude, they need to be nerfed, and hard. Ret is way to easy to play, prot is much too capable ( to the detriment of other tanks when it comes to raiding) and holy is, well ok i suppose. And i have a lvl 80 pala, i just find it boring to play. Both DK's and Hunters are harder to play well than Paladins.
Edyion Apr 13th 2010 10:09AM
There is an easy solution to your plight dear rplkleynhans. Would you like to hear it? Come a little closer. That's it. Closer. Ok you listening?
*clears throat*
Don't play a paladin.
See its that simple
Red Hawk Apr 13th 2010 10:31AM
Can you provide some more convincing arguments on your views on how ret is too easy and prot is too capable? (poor holy, you're just 'ok')
"Rawr i can spam my attacks all at the start, and then sit there for the next button to light up" may well be easy, but that's not going to get you far, at least in the raiding field (where my primary experience lies), and yes i can agree, can ultimately become boring.
Ret may not have an overly complex rotation, but if you don't manage it properly you're going to have resource issues as the fight progresses, particularly if you get spam happy with the 2 pc t10 bonus (if you have access to it of course).
As for protection - As it stands now, yes our threat generation is generally good, but any experienced warrior can keep up (primary tank source in my guild, only part time druid/dk tanks at this point in time, so i cannot reference how they perform against my paladin accurately). But, are we too capable because of our aoe threat or is it our single target threat, or something else entirely?
In similar gear however, due to recent stam reductions on our part, and increased stamina on the warrior's part, our health pool is now lower than a warrior, even when the warrior hasn't outright stam stacked their gems/enchants, and our total stam values are also lower than those of similary geared warriors (pre 3.3.3 i was in an odd situation of most stam, least hp, now its least/least).
And in the long run, i am of the view that trash, whilst making up the largest % of mob numbers in dungeons, shouldn't be the sole focus for assessing the performance of any class.
Also, shouldn't all classes and specs be 'easy to play'?
ish Apr 13th 2010 10:05AM
they SPARKLE?!!?!
im out.
GG WoW...i dont want my toon associated with the word SPARKLE in any way.
That word has too much FAIL associated with it.
Tabasa Apr 13th 2010 10:07AM
Have you ever paid attention to Paladin spell animations?
Paladins have been sparkling for a long time, well before the Twilight phenomenon.
