So I must be the only one here, but I have never once, not even after reading these comments looked at my tree and thought "man I really hate the way this looks" or "man, I really wish I could see my armor"If you want people to look at you in caster form, let female blood elves be druids. Otherwise, let me shift away from the ugly tauren (and soon to be troll) form. Why is tree becoming a cooldown but the rest of the forms are not? Why not make tree a cooldown for non healing druids and cat/bear/chicken cooldowns for non resto spec'd druids? If I can't be a tree while healing, why does the tank get to be a bear while tanking? I rolled a druid just for the tree, and I'm sad to see it go. The tree form is the defining characteristic of a resto druid. If you are going to take that away, you have to give us something else to replace it, not a weak ass cooldown. And one last thing, please blizzard, please, explain WHY you are doing this. Nobody has given a solid reason yet. So far every reason given is essentially the opinion of the person giving the reason, rather than a solid mechanic based explanation. Until you redefine the role of the resto druid, as of right now in cataclysm it looks like a DPS/Tank class that can sort of heal. The resto tree is empty now.
