@Bond Cardinal rubies and other raw epic gems sell on many servers for about the same thing- they're both purchasable with 10k honor, and while there is always more demand for reds, there's more supply now. You need to look at all the epics and figure out which one has the best profit, based on the mats needed to transmute as well as the market price. This is rarely the reds, now.
Chalcedony sells for a lot these days because of alchemists making meta gems.
You can vendor the green jewelery that used to be disenchanted for a decent amount- more than cutting and vendoring the gems at least.
Also, @gbta, on most servers, frozen orbs are the price of a frost lotus and eternal fire, since you can trade them for that now. Because of this, it's no longer profitable to make icy prisms. It's much more profitable to use the mats elsewhere.
