Reminder: Gurubashi Beatdown II today
<It came from the Blog> is having its second Gurubashi Beatdown today. If you have a Horde character on US Zangarmarsh that is at least level 55 and has an epic mount (with stars or otherwise), you are welcome to join us for some games in the Gurubashi Arena.
We are also having another pre-event mixer today. This will take place near the fishing trainer in Orgrimmar and I hear that a few of my fellow WoW.com staffers will be showing up to chat with us. Here are the event stats:
Please join us on US Zangarmarsh-H in <It came from the Blog>. Ask Robiness, Robinemia or any member online for an invite. Guild ranks of Lurker or above have the ability to invite. You are all welcome as long as you play by our simple rules, that can be summed up with "Don't be a Funsucker!" Also, please see the guild FAQ for the most common questions.

I approve of Horde self-ownage!
Catacomb Kid Apr 18th 2010 12:21PM
If I may, why Gurubashi? If you require DK's (thus WotLK) aren't there any arenas with shorter corpse runs in BC or Wrath content? I don't mean to troll, I just don't know the answer to my question, haha, it's not rhetorical.
Robin Torres Apr 18th 2010 12:24PM
The corpse run is tiny for Gurubashi. The graveyard is right outside the building.
Catacomb Kid Apr 18th 2010 12:32PM
Ahh, silly me.
Felix_rew Apr 18th 2010 1:22PM
Isnt it the only world PvP place? (cept diremaul) or are you on a pvp server
Raeenith Apr 18th 2010 1:36PM
There's an arena in Nagrand too.
Tokkar Apr 18th 2010 2:16PM
The way that I understand it is that Gurubashi is relatively close to Orgrimmar, thus making Org a good meeting place. From there, it's just over to the zeppelin and a short ride to the arena.
Have fun, gang!

@Felix_rew
There a a few FFA arenas in the game - Gurubashi, Dire Maul, Nagrand, and Blade's Edge Mountains.

Oh, and hey, everyone...just a teensy-weensy little reminder...
If the game requires "NO SPELLS", then...um...that means you don't cast any spells.
Ever.
Just punch or use whatever weaponry that is allowed in the game. No clicking on taskbar thingies, no pressing of number keys (or whatever hotkey you have your spells/macros associated with), just wail on your opponent until they stop moving...then wail on them a few more times, just to be sure.
If an Ally griefer shows up and it's "USE WHATEVER YOU HAVE" to get rid of the annoyance, here's a tip...NO AREA OF EFFECT. Yeah...you use an AoE and you just got everyone else around you too.
Just speaking from experience of the last one here. We had "naked fist-fighting" with a "NO SPELLS" command and someone kept popping spells, diseases, etc. A few Alliance came in to grief us and a few of us wound up dying because of so many hitting AoE (like Death & Decay, Pestilence, Blood Boil, Corpse Explosion, etc.).
NO ONE IS TO TALK IN ALL CAPS EXCEPT FOR ROBIN SO THAT SHE CAN...oh, sorry...so that she can stand out in the chat for instructions, game information, etc.
Now then...if you're only THINKING about doing this? QUIT THINKIN....sorry...caps...Quit thinking!!! Do it!!!
It's a lot of fun, seriously. It's just a bunch of silliness and socializing for the sake of being silly and socializing.
Have fun, everyone, and I'll see you next time for Gurubashi Beatdown III :-)

WTB Irc chat channel so the alliance toons on Zangarmarsh can join in.
ButcheredCow Apr 18th 2010 6:21PM
/salute Thrahk!
Supyro Apr 18th 2010 6:41PM
Thrahk! My hero!
Srsly t'was fun, if only ppl would listen and let us have our fun at the max /sigh... well anywayz, see you next time guys!
PrincessRosario Apr 18th 2010 6:49PM
Unfortunately there were a lot of griefers this time, and the sad thing is most of them were other Horde players. Shoutout to all of you guys, you know who you are: congrats on being SO LEET that you can take down a bunch of level 58 naked death knights! *applaud*
Oh and Thrahk: love ya, buddy.
Ztup Apr 19th 2010 10:05AM
To be fair, the Horde were asked to help take care of the Alliance griefers. They helped, then you guys killed them after. Then the level 80 Horde Shaman that you guys just death gripped 30 times and killed proceeded to run to the middle, Fire Nova, and Thunderstorm, killing pretty much all of the 30 DKs that just killed him. You guys got what you deserved from him, asking him to help, then killing him.
PrincessRosario Apr 19th 2010 3:53PM
I don't remember hearing anything about asking for help from high level horde players. Most of them just started showing up and killing us for no apparent reason. *shrug*
Robin Torres Apr 20th 2010 11:27AM
Ztup, someone not in our guild was using general to coordinate killing Allies, but that wasn't us asking for help. We attempted to ignore everyone and play our games, but got interfered with so then we killed.
It's too bad there was a misunderstanding, but I don't think the Horde non-guildies are as blameless as you say.
Sintraedrien Apr 18th 2010 7:45PM
Thrahk for Horde Warchief!
Evoelle Apr 18th 2010 7:50PM
When will this happen for the fans of WoW.com that reside in the EU ?
Tokkar Apr 18th 2010 9:27PM
The problem stems from the following:
1) time difference
2) NA-based can't play on EU servers, and vice-versa
In order to resolve this, they would literally need someone on their staff who resides in the EU.
Evoelle Apr 19th 2010 12:56AM
Makes me quite sad :(
Thanks for your reply.
Maybe they will have enough EU staff so that the event that occurs in NA can be brought to the EU.
I'd volunteer :)
