You guys have a good show.
Only one thing bothers me. Whoever is breathing deep over other people talking is beyond annoying and gross sounding. Push to talk is your friend.
"Woooooosh"

I think 5v5 is the worst arena. Its a lolburstfest. If you're a Druid with terrible burst throughput, or a Priest with few escapes, forget about 5v5. In 3s and 5s you have to plan and coordinate and react to your opponents. 2v2 is imbalanced because some classes have much more control and synergy than others. To balance it they'd have to give everyone the control of a mage or a druid. 5v5 is really just as imbalanced, imo. 3v3 is the right place for Arena. That "minigame" of switching targets is (combined with CC) is what arenas are all about.
There's no strat to 5s. Its like standing in an open field with a shotgun. Your opponent has a shotgun too. Who wins?

edit: in 3s and 2s you have to plan and coordinate

Awesome show, guys. My first time listening, but you can be sure I'll be tuning in each week.
Erzfiend Apr 20th 2010 12:05PM
Also,
WAHAHAHAHA, HORSE MONEY!

Yeah, I can echo their "want to see a worgen female model" thing too. Although perhaps not for the same reasons. :D
Regarding the community interaction thing, well, the things I want to know are kinda irrelevant; I want to know how in Hell Ghostcrawler went from marine biology to lead systems designer for Blizzard, what the parallels between those two professions are, what his favourite marine animal is, and what marine animal the WoW forum posters remind him of. Silly stuff.

someone needs to blow their nose.
Mars Apr 24th 2010 9:00AM
I agree completely. No one wants to listen to someone sniffling like a youngster. Blow your nose, what are you 15? Had to stop listening after 5mins...so much for this week's podcast. kthxbye

Don't wanna sound harsh, but Mat needs to learn to stop talking. I listen to podcasts to listen to multiple views, not a 5 min diatribe. I have never heard such a long rant on a podcast. It's a skill to express you ideas with out ranting, which Mat needs to learn it. All the legal talk came across as "I'm a law student look at me!!!". Not cool.

This show has been going down hill for a while now, but after this weeks comments in the podcast i finally had to respond. One the amount of comments that pour out of everyones mouths on this show is crazy. I'm not saying you shouldn't be talking, but when you say something don't repeat the same thing multiple times in different ways, or don't go on sidetracks that really doesnt matter when it comes to the topic. STOP trying to be self rightous and act like you know all. We want to hear your thoughts on topics, but don't come across as know all dicks when talking about a topic. Last note, don't say that people are wrong for ragging on people buying the horse, when the purchase in the end effects everyone. Yes nobody should care what someone else does with their money, but the issue is someone elses money. The problem here is instead of Blizzard taking the piles of money they are making monthly from subscriptions to fix issues, make new content, take care of spam/account hacker issues, they are putting small groups together to make dlc to make them even more money. I would rather have them focus on the game currently, then focus on adding small items that is going to only make them more money and adds little to the game. Also while you think Activision/Blizzard is just a "Name", most people thought the same with Infinity ward and look where they are now. While Blizzard might have more power, in the end Activision and Blizzard have to work together and Blizzard can't tell them to go Frack Off.

The show sucks now that turpster left, I used to listen to it every week. He left I stopped listening after the following show. I said surely thats just because they were new to podcasting, tuned in again, just one guy talking and ranting. Not allowing the others to speak.
Honestly, I don't know who it was, but he sounds as though he is talking down to his fellows on the show and the listeners. Which is a major turn off, at lest for me. The guy you can tell tries to add some comedic humor to it, but fails epicly.
Get Turpster back, fire the dude who talks down to everyone, and you'll have a good show again.
But past that the sight is still as awesome and helpful as always.
Crowmeister Apr 29th 2010 3:09AM
Whoa what negative comments!
I like the show the way it is! Turpster was just a clown, I don't need a clown, I need news and game knowledge from people that play the game more than I do.
I've been casual since BC and therefore like it when the team discusses things like patchnotes or lore.
I agree with the RL wall'o'text ;) Sometimes your rants are too long but it's not that bad.
I listened to The Instance a few years back but that was a show I did not enjoy at all. The host had no idea about this game. The 2nd week after WotLK launched he mentioned he went to some purple flying city and if other people know about it. I mean c'mon Dalaran was known to be the hub a year before lauch, if you don't know that, SOME lore or the fact that after 2 weeks of launch EVERYONE knows then you have no right hosting a podcast.
Anyway, I like the WoW Insider show a lot! The different opinions each week is much better than a small static group.
