Tipster Citadel passed this video over to me, citing it as a pretty good raid machinima. That can be a tough field to evaluate, since different raid videos all obviously serve different purposes. Some are showing you strategies, others are displaying player skill, while still others are just kind of saying, "Hey, this is cool."
The Fall of the Lich King by Onix definitely seems to fall in the "this is cool" category. It's got a blend of different Icecrown Citadel fights, including a half-dozen or so voice-overs from the game files. If you're experienced with this raid already, you probably won't see much that excites you. However, if you've not done Icecrown Citadel to any real degree, Onix's video will do a decent job showing you what the place is like. For that reason alone, The Fall of the Lich King is a nice video to have on tap.

You loved "Schnookums: The First Miss Azeroth", yet you deem this video 'pretty good'? I'm sorry to say, but I seriously doubt people will agree with your opinion on this video.
On a side note: Make sure to watch part III of this machinima. SPOILER ALERT!
What he said. You think this video is only "decent" and there is not much that will excite us, yet you loved Schnookums. You 're an idiot. Plus this video is incomplete, it's only the part 2.
Evening having done ICC, this is a great cinematic of the experience. Myself and my guild just downed the Lich King in 10 man last night and watching this in the light of that made me feel very proud of our accomplishment. It reminds me of the Ulduar: Defiance video.
As one who has tanked the Lich King but has no real prospect of beating the fight any time soon, it was very neat to see this all as one fluid experience. I enjoyed it very well.

I disagree, I've been working on ICC since it came out, first reg mode and now heroic. I still very much enjoyed this video. Sometimes watching health bars/moving out of fire/decursing/other random things keep me so busy I don't fully appreciate the encounter. This video helped me to do that.
Nice to see after scanning the web for strat videos that someone else does sindragosa that way. Other than that, awesome video. I think it's also a nice little guild memorial of the run. Good job!
I'll admit, I've only stepped foot in Icecrown Citadel a few times and will get my first serious 25 man attempt in tonight... but after watching this, I am convinced that the future of storytelling is before us. What Blizzard has done with the characters, environment, lore, and the general feel of WoW has defined a new genre and continues to soar to new heights. This video series is nothing short of brilliant.
In the brazillian wow forum where he posted this video by the first time, Onyx explained that, yes, most of the scenes was recorded with him playing with UI hidden.
Great video, great songs! Special thanks for the portuguese subtitle.
After watching them all I decided I had to link them on my facebook page and to all my friends. All three of these videos tell the whole story so well it was hard not to share.
OMG I CANT WAIT FOR ICC!! I've been gearing for it FOREVER so i can have this kind of experience...epic battle between The Lich King! Every new raid I do is awesome, but they all look pathetic compared to this! Blizzard ftw!! :D
Awesome vid, especially for someone like me who has not yet step foot into ICC, but hopes to one day.
Only problem I have with the video is it is a bit hard to hear what is being said over the music. Maybe tone the music volume down a smidge? Or even some English subs would be great.

How do they make such videos? I mean, Onix does not play with UI hidden, right?
CaryEverett Apr 20th 2010 1:29PM
Well, it's safe to assume that the guild probably has the encounters on farm.
So it's not a big deal to have someone run around with their UI off filming the fight.

Good vid but next time try and lower the music a bit so you can hear the voice overs properly.
