One note on those specific resist potions: While the market is small, if your timing is good, you can make a killing. How do you get good timing? The short version is to pay attention to the progression of the raiding guilds on your server. When Heroic Anub'arak was the toughest fight in the game, any guild worth a damn working on Phase 3 went through 25 Mighty Frost Protection potions per attempt. Thats an awful lot of potions, and there /is/ a market there. But you need to be there early and you need to be ready for it. Watch the strategies on the very cutting edge of raiding, and look for unusual consumables.(On a related note, here's a free tip: If guilds on your server are just getting to or beginning to get to Heroic LK, now is a good time to start selling mats required for leveling Engineering or Leatherworking, as Nitro Boosts and Drums of Speed are both extremely potent for this encounter!)

Most progressive raiding guilds will make resist pots for the raid without their raiders needing to buy them on the AH. The GM would just buy the mats and have a guild pot master make a truck load of them.I've been an alchemist since vanilla and have found it quite hard to make decent money on the two servers I've actively raided on. The items that are guaranteed to sell are those main ones that Basil posted but the money I make from alchemy pales hugely to what I make selling enchanting scrolls, enchanting mats and jewelcrafting items sadly. With the introduction of inscription, it ramped up herb costs even further, therefore shrinking any moderate profit further. If you happen to be a herbalist with hours of farming time on your hands and huge amounts of luck finding frost lotus', then it might not be so bad.Of course servers are different and maybe some alchemists are lucky enough to make a mint on their server - just don't assume it's a ticket to free gold. If you want that, take up enchanting and watch the gold roll in just from selling infinite dust!

Also on related note about hardmodes in ICC. You basically must have frost resistance gear for Sindragosa (25man atleast, it hits like truck http://www.wowhead.com/spell=71058 ). So yeah, those ilvl 200 frost resistance gears are still selling if theres new guilds progressing to sindragosa that havent bought such sets yet.
