Breakfast Topic: 101 things to do before the world dies

Then Slorkuz chimed in with the following:
SlorkuzQuote:
The old world is changing forever. Let's compile a list of things to do before the end.
1) Play through all the starter zones, to give some idea if each race's lore.

Visit the Shimmering Flats!
We already know that Thousand Needles is going to be mostly underwater in Cataclysm, but it was another nudge to the realization that the world we know is going bye-bye forever. Right now, my personal "bucket list" includes doing the dungeon set 2 quest line, but I'd love to hear from other players on how they're approaching the "end of the world."

Wander up the banks of the Thondoril River and help an old man get some food :)
Willem Kupper Apr 23rd 2010 8:42AM
Nothing exciting, just walk the lonely roads between worlds with Artorius...
RetPallyJil Apr 23rd 2010 8:50AM
And if you do share body warmth, we don't want to hear about it o_O

I leveled a horde character to 80, paying close attention to the quests and the lore. Now I want to go back and get loremaster on her and take lots of screenshots along the way.
I also want to get a lot of the old reputations to exalted on my alliance main, but that would take a lot more motivation than I have right now.
Luci Apr 23rd 2010 9:17AM
I know that I'm not going to have time for Loremaster, but I am doing a similar thing with my Explorer adventures - screenshotting all the little interesting things I find in my journeys.

Finish all Old World quests and reputations. I'm almost there -- the only problem is that the reputations (and their related quests) that are left are the worst ones in the damn game.

As a player that has been here since the beginning, it is important to me to get as many old world achievements as possible to show that I was a part of the classic game.
My first focus was getting Loremaster (Alliance) on my main, which I achieved a couple weeks ago. My new focus is to get Loremaster (Horde) without using my Death Knight. My Tauren Warrior is 13. We'll see what happens.

- Finish all 4 Steamwheedle Cartel rep grinds.
- Clear Blackwing Lair and AQ40 (only classic raids i don't have achievements for)
- Finish Hydraxian Waterlord rep grind.
- Complete my Prophesy armor set (just need the hat). This is my favorite looking priest armor set in-game
- Finally get that drop from Molten Core so I can finally make the Benediction staff.
And I think that about covers it. I've gotten all of the explorer stuff done, loremaster, most old-world reps other than ones listed above. All in all, I feel I've completed about everything wow Vanilla has left to offer me other than what I've got listed above. Once those are done... Deathwing can bring it!!!

I have had the trinket from MC in my bank for *months*. Another priest friend in our guild got both (she farmed the other trinket from the demons for a few hours) and started doing the quest line. I thought, well I should go farm the other trinket. I was there about an hour and she mentioned it was in the AH. I was like "It's BOP?!??!". I logged on my bank toon and sure enough there was one in the AH for 200g. (Well worth it imo for something with a very low drop rate, I can make 200g in like an hour). The guild thought it was funny that I said "Oh look, it just dropped in my mailbox :D".
I must say Benediction is an awesome staff. I keep meaning to go heal a heroic with it and see how long it takes for someone to notice its a lvl 60 weapon (with I can still heal heroics easily with it, because I have over 2300 spell power with it equipped :D)

Right now my only pre-Cataclysm goal is Loremaster on my main. I may add to the list as I go, but right now that alone seems ambitious enough. I'm sad that I won't get to experience some Horde lore, but alas, there are only so many hours in a day to play WoW.

I'm leveling a tauren druid for the first time, and hitting up every Barrens quest. I haven't spent time in the Barrens since TBC gave us the Eversong Forest/Ghostlands leveling rush. I must admit, I'm actually enjoying it. Of course, obtaining travel form at level 16 helps a lot. I will hit up Thousand Needles and Desolace as well.

Make sure you do the quest chain that starts with http://www.wowhead.com/quest=1149 in 1000 Needles
jishdefish Apr 23rd 2010 9:13AM

My sister and I are leveling are first (and probably) only Alliance toons together. We want to see their quests and adventures before the world goes.
My sister and I are also going to compile a Around The World Screen Shot Taking Album closer to Cataclysm.

Get your Guardian of Cenarius titles everyone. While the title itself might stick around in Cata there are still possibilities they will remove it. With there rumors of a return of Cenarius would you all not want to be recognized as his Guardian? Plus it only takes about to day to go from Friendly to Exalted with CC. CE takes a bit longer.
Luci Apr 23rd 2010 9:26AM
Cataclysm Bucket List:
1. Finish grinding all old-world linked minipets (only a handful left)
2. Swift Zulian Tiger, and Polymorph: Turtle Tome from ZG
3. Explorer title
4. Stockpile goods, craft mats, and heirlooms
5. Argent Pony Bridle for my main
6. Rhok'delar quest chain on my hunter
7. Red Qiraji Battle Tank from AQ
8. Clear AQ and BWL on my main
9. Diplomat on my main (only Timbermaw remaining)
10. Exalted Zandalar on my main.
That's all I can think of at the moment, and of course some of those are more important than others lol.

Before Cata hits I'd like to read 10 to 15 books, play soccer, bball and hike at least 5 times. Summertime! Then Cata may arrive. Don't be silly folks, like you never saw Old WoW before...
Marathal Apr 23rd 2010 9:40AM
Loremaster most definitely. Just over 100 in each land to go. Finished up the Shimmering flats last weekend. I thought the Duskwood Sven questline was insane with running back and forth, Shimmering flats to Booty Bay was far worse. Other than that. Getting exalted in as many factions before they may disappear or change.
Aris Apr 23rd 2010 1:31PM
The Sven quest chain is awesome! I'm always jealous when I meet a low level alliance toon that has never quested in Duskwood... I encourage them to go and find them all. It's one of my favorite zones in the game. Yes, there is a LOT of running up and down the length of the zone but it's much faster now with mounts at 20. The Sven chain itself actually sends you around the world a little bit but it's not bad and it's actually really interesting and fun if you're reading the text. Plus, I think everyone should experience the sheer panic of their first encounter with Stitches. Running around doing your thing and suddenly there's zone wide shout outs by the guards. He was the original Fel Reaver!
