Well, I had the Engineering-Mining combo till i dinged 80, when i realised that mining doesnt bring in money anymore while Engineering simply sucks. I didnt want to give up engienering so I tried to swap mining for JC and 2500gold later I have Engi-JC combo... works awesome for me. As a tank I get many useful "enchants" from engienering like +32 stamina on a head slot and JC gives me the 3x54 (not sure how much exactly) stamina gems. Not sure how will this work out for me when I have to level both professions in Cataclysm, but so far works gr8 for me.
P.S. Making money from JC is so easy and fast.
