Choose My Adventure: Week 5 schedule
Choose the adventures of the WoW.com staff as we level our characters in <It came from the Blog> on US Zangarmarsh-H.
I have a confession to make. I did some extra leveling on Robinemia this weekend, leaving my fellow adventurers behind. It's not my fault! (It's totally my fault.) I couldn't resist the call of the sparkle pony. Also, a mage really isn't a mage without ports, right? /rationalize
Anyway, the poll results are in:
If you want to join in on the fun of Choose My Adventure, please join us on US Zangarmarsh-H in <It came from the Blog>. Ask Robiness, Robinemia or any member online for an invite. Guild ranks of Lurker or above have the ability to invite. You are all welcome as long as you play by our simple rules, that can be summed up with "Don't be a Funsucker!" Also, please see the guild FAQ for the most common questions.

Anyway, the poll results are in:
- Fox Van Allen will be playing a blood elf paladin, with promises of RP.
- Grayfields, Michael Gray's tauren hunter, will use a spider pet for PvP.
- Anne Stickney's troll warrior will level as protection and take up blacksmithing and mining as professions.
- Matthew Rossi will level as a frost mage, but I still think he should reroll something he has fun with.
- Elizabeth Harper as Faience, the troll shaman, and Robin Torres as Robinemia, the undead mage: Monday and Wednesday, 11 p.m. to midnight EDT
- Michael Gray as Grayfields, the tauren hunter, will be making appearances as he can this week.
- Amy Schley as Patent, the troll rogue will also be making appearances as she can.
- Matthew Rossi as Andrenorton, his new troll mage: some time Saturday.
- Adam Holisky as Adammentat, the tauren druid, will be making appearances as he can.
- Anne Stickney as Annephora, the troll warrior, will be on Tuesday at 1 a.m. EDT (which is Monday at 11 p.m. Zangarmarsh time).
- Fox Van Allen, blood elf paladin: TBA

"Fox Van Allen will be playing a blood elf paladin, with promises of RP."
You just got the SHAAAAAAFT!
NeoPhobos Apr 26th 2010 8:15PM
They say this blood elf Fox is a bad mutha...

@NeoPhobos
Shut your mouth...

So whatever happened to Christian Belt leveling a lock???
I really want to see this.
themann1086 Apr 27th 2010 1:32AM
Yeah! Come on Archmage Pants, you wrote the lock column one day, you can play as one for a little :P
(cutaia) Apr 27th 2010 11:35AM
Just think of it this way Belt...if you play one, it'll just give you more fodder in your lock-hate.

"Just think of it this way Belt...if you play one, it'll just give you more fodder in your lock-hate."
Or we can finally put aside our petty differences and fight our true enemy. The one who threatens the very stability of azeroth, who's entire being has turned into senseless destructive hate. WE ARE COMING FOR YOU ROGUES!

"Matthew Rossi will level as a frost mage, but I still think he should reroll something he has fun with."
If he really is miserable and absolutely deplores the mage playstyle, then yeah. I'm just a little hesitant to call for an immediate switch because it really does take a while for some classes to start to shine and be more fun.
That then begs the question, what point should we stop egging him on if he still isn't enjoying it? I'd hope by the time he gets to Shatter, he'd enjoy those big crits and see the mage class as more fun. At that point, he'd even have Evocation to help with mana concerns and Frost Nova for CC. Level twenty is the usual time when classes start to bloom and get better.

Thing is, Matthew Rossi already has like eight warriors. Plus enhancement shammies and goodness knows what else. I figure if it melees he's probably levelled it. So the mage is an opportunity to force him out of his comfort zone.
Bvannas Apr 26th 2010 9:26PM
When he stops with the mage hate! :P
Honestly if he surrenders and says "Okay, the hybrid tax isn't the worst thing" and either gives up the mage hate when I read his column (i dont even play warrior but they are still great reads :P). Or Swaps the mage hate for rampant warlock hate. Then ill let him reroll whatever he likes :)
Matthew Rossi Apr 26th 2010 9:44PM
There is absolutely no way I will ever back down on the hybrid tax. I'll level this mage to 85 before I give up on that one.
Kittens Apr 27th 2010 12:53AM
The mage is only level 12, and like the others say, maybe that's a liiiiittle too early to state that no fun can be had as a mage. I say stick it out, at least until the 30's. If it's melee classes only that you've leveled, then yes, it is a big change. But is it necessarily bad instead of something you just have to get used to a little more?
I thought that was one of the points of the whole Choose my Adventure thing, to get people to explore where they haven't gone before :)
Possum Apr 27th 2010 2:23AM
Level 12 and he's complaining? Level 12 sucks as a mage. Just suck it up, the later levels are awesome.
Sylux Apr 26th 2010 8:57PM
Fox's comment = BEST. ROLEPLAYING. STORY. EVER.
Robert Apr 27th 2010 12:10AM
I would be cool with Matt rerolling something else, but here are my issues. One, as Sharvis said, is to stick it out a little bit more, his ideas may change.
My second thought is that the point here is for US to choose FOR HIM, something that he might not normally choose. So whether he likes it or not is irrelevant, he gave us the choice and we made it.
Still, if he really hates it after like level 20 or so, I say we let him re roll something else of our choice.
Kelsey Apr 27th 2010 8:08AM
I thought the whole point of "Choose My Adventure" was to make choices that would put the players out of their comfort zone, things that they wouldn't normally choose for themselves. I could be wrong about that, but if I'm not I think Matt needs to stick it out. Like others have said, the lowest levels aren't really representative of a class anyway. Hang in there, Rossi! We'll be cheering you on (and reveling in your anguish)!
(cutaia) Apr 27th 2010 11:33AM
No, you're right. It makes for the best stories that way. ;)
Quine Apr 27th 2010 11:27AM
Robin, I think since you leveled without us you should give us all a sparkle pony.
(cutaia) Apr 27th 2010 11:34AM
Hey man, he's just talking about Fox.
