Refer-A-Friend rocket available starting tomorrow, Tuesday April 27
Zarhym has just posted to let us all know that the previously announced X-53 Touring Rocket, the only 2-seated flying mount currently available in game, will be claimable by qualifying Refer-A-Friend accounts starting tomorrow, Tuesday April 27. With this, the Zhevra mount will be retired, so if you want it, be sure to grab it tonight.
The full announcement text is behind the cut.

ZarhymTime is running out for those who wish to claim their Zhevra, as the launch of the X-53 Touring Rocket is now scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 27! If you've fulfilled all of the Recruit-A-Friend requirements necessary to claim a mount now but choose not to claim the Zhevra, you will be able to claim the X-53 Touring Rocket instead once it launches. Sounds like they're firing it up for a final test run now....

So just for a summary. Lets say I don't really have a friend to recruit and I just want to "pay" for a mount, what would I have to do and how much would I end up paying for this "vanity" item?
Drbenru Apr 27th 2010 6:02AM
It would cost you one vanilla wow box, or an online purchase, PLUS a three month subscription in the new account.
Arturis Apr 27th 2010 11:34AM
If my math is correct:
$20 for Classic WoW (which included the first 30 days free)
$15 for month 2
$15 for month 3
---
$45 2 seater mount
Arturis Apr 27th 2010 11:39AM
don! $50
Math + 8:30am = fail
Arturis Apr 27th 2010 11:40AM
That was supposed to be a $50 total - my mistake

been running RaF for nearly two months now, wondering when i'll get my code for the mount.
Swarfega Apr 27th 2010 6:09AM
Check your web account. It will ask what Character you want the mount sending to.
Drbenru Apr 27th 2010 6:11AM
If your friend is paying month to month subscription you'll get your mount when they've payed for a third month. It's been a while since I bought the game so I don't remember how much play time is included but I think it's like thirty days. The included playtime doesn't count, so you'd get your mount after your friend pays for his fourth month. If they already payed using the three or six month subscription your mount is available immediately and can be redeemed in the RAF Page in your account management section in www.worldofwarcraft.com. They won't give a code to redeem in battle.net. You have to use the RAF page to select what character gets the mount and that character gets it by mail.

thanks guys. Just checked on my battlenet account and saw that i can claim the mount, so i'll be getting that in game tonight.
Re: swarfega. Great name. My main is a hunter, and i have tamed Spirit of Koosu (http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/mobs/mob_spiritofkoosu.html)... I've named him swarfega also. ;-)

I would pay gold to swap in these awful Zhevras for a mount that's finally worth the Recruit-A-Friend Program. I think if your original accts from the program are still active you should be offered the mount. In my dreams!!!
Guess I'll still be stuck with these retarded striped, non-magical, unicorn things until I feel like blowing cash on an account I don't need.

and still cant use it in denmark :'(

So lets say I recruited my friend to RaF... Do we both get the rocket? Or Just me? Also could we get it tomorrow if he paid 3 months in full tomorrow? Or do we have to wait 3 months in actual time?
sLpFhaWK Apr 27th 2010 7:33AM
Only you would get it since you recruited him i believe, but I am not 100% sure. Let me google it real quick..
"On this note, how can I qualify for a Zhevra mount? Are all accounts eligible?
Only linked veteran accounts are eligible for our promotional Zhevra mount. Each eligible veteran account will qualify for this item once a recruit account upgrades to a retail version of World of Warcraft and purchases 60 days of game time.
Again, in order for your veteran account to be eligible for this mount, it must be linked with a recruit account."
Theres your answer, only the referring account will get it.

Well, incoming flame war from my buddy then... He was pumped as all get out about getting a rocket.. if its only me, its kinda lame.. I feel Blizz should give the recuritee the mount too.. if the person that got recruited spends 3 months worth of cash, I feel they should get a reward mount too.
Mike2100 Apr 27th 2010 7:05AM
I'll have to save this for my Goblin Hunter :)
hipponaut Apr 27th 2010 7:45AM
Now if only they would allow RAF to work for people from Czech Republic and many other countries :(
Rajinnu Apr 27th 2010 7:47AM

Bao Apr 27th 2010 8:00AM

Deathknighty Apr 27th 2010 2:56PM
