@matt: Both Divine Shield and Hand of Protection will save someone from falling damage.

Couldn't believe it, so I just hopped on my Paladin.And got the Going Down achievement. Hilarious. Looks like you'll be able to giggle at your gnome 'friend' anyhow. :)

Yup. It's the priest shield that does diddly squat for falling damage.

actually, you don't even need to dismount yourself. If you look at the rocket icon on your UI, you can just right click the yellow dot to eject your passenger. =D
