The Queue: A rebuttal

Adam isn't the only one that can kick off The Queue with pictures of good-looking ladies from geeky TV shows. Behold: Christina Hendricks. You may recognize her from shows such as Firefly and Mad Men. I think I'll let the header image speak for itself and get right into the Q&A.
Pumabackup asked:
"I've been wondering about worgen and goblin death knights. How will they explain the story with them?"
My understanding is they won't. It's a case where they're not going to worry about the lore at all in the interest of maximizing fun. There probably shouldn't be any worgen death knights since they've all been locked away in Gilneas until after the events of Wrath of the Lich King, but it's just more fun if they can be death knights. It's like when they brought back Onyxia a few patches ago. There was no lore around it, she was never actually resurrected in the story, it was just for fun.
Jamie asked:
"Is there any way WoW.com can fund a breeding programme between Dawn Moore & Chris Belt to create the best WoW blogger?"
You frighten me. And I think Mr. Belt is already married with children, so you're out of luck.
JFetch asked:
"Why are there NPCs that sell higher level white weapons? These weapons seem useless since they have no stat bonuses, but cost large sums of gold. Who is buying these?"I'm pretty sure I've answered this before, but oh well. A few of my guild mates have bought them to level up weapon skills. The white weapons you can buy in Dalaran have very fast swing speeds. The Dalaran Great Axe is a two-handed axe with a 1.8 second swing speed. If you're a protection warrior/paladin and don't plan on ever actually getting a two-handed axe, you might as well use that for your skill ups.
It also just adds flavor to the game. Not everything you find on vendors is something you're going to take into a raid or use for character progression. The little things like that make a city feel more city-like. The random civvies living in Dalaran need weapons too, but they don't have the luxury of going out and killing boars all day long. Or ... you know, gods.
Grinton asked:
"I have met some RL friends that I want to play with, but they play on an EU Server. What would be the best way to go about switching?"
You're going to need to start over from scratch, unfortunately. You can't transfer characters from US to EU servers. You're going to need to go to WoW-Europe.com and repurchase the game and all of its expansions. Switching regions is not an easy task, but hopefully playing with friends will make it worthwhile.
That was our last question for today, but I want to jot down two notes for everybody reading: First, I'll have eye candy for the opposite gender on Wednesday. Ladies, don't feel left out. Second, my warrior is crit-immune, you jerks.

Nah man,
http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20071027082845/wowwiki/images/thumb/d/df/DoomhammerModel.jpg/800px-DoomhammerModel.jpg
*that's* the Doomhammer.
I dunno what Thrall is weilding now...but it doesn't look like that.
Maybe he got his account hacked and the buggers DE'd the Doomhammer or vendored it.
Zyxt Apr 26th 2010 3:58PM
Yes, Thrall does not use the standard shaman attacks and whatnot, but have you ever noticed him lacking in killing power?
Bryan Dare Apr 26th 2010 9:59PM
Thrall's just so good that he doesn't need any of those things. He must secretly be Saurfang's understudy or something.... ;-)

i think i've accidentally stumbled upon cracked.com ... not that there's a problem with cracked.com
themightysven Apr 26th 2010 3:49PM
nah, if this was Cracked.com, I would be trapped reading their list articles for the rest of the week.
(It's about equal to tvtropes in that regard)

Hey, my girlfriend is gonna be traveling to Europe next semester. I was wondering if she'd still be able to play on our (American) server. When Cataclysm comes out, will she be able to buy a copy in Europe and still play here, or would she need an "American" copy?
Seems like a kind of specialized question, so this might not be the best place, but I figured I'd try.
G` Apr 26th 2010 1:44PM
I'm gonna take a big leap here and recommend that maybe your GF shouldn't be playing WoW while she's studying abroad. The game will be waiting when she gets home, but while in Europe there is always something better you could be doing other than WoW.
PictoKong Apr 26th 2010 1:45PM
She needs an American verson, the Serial no. Are different for each region.
Im sure you can buy the Serial on the Blizz Store (probably not at launch tho)
Sadrach Apr 26th 2010 1:59PM
Thanks for your concern, G', but since we're in a fairly close friends and family guild, she'd be using it to keep in touch with a good number of people she cares about. WoW is important to both of us, so she was wondering. The judgment wasn't really needed.
Picto, thanks for the heads up. Given that, would it be possible for me to buy a US copy and mail it to her? I assume she'd need the CD-Key, as well as the CD to actually install it. I remember that Wrath wasn't available for download for a while after it's release.
Duckodile Apr 26th 2010 5:21PM
Hey,
I am European but got into WoW thanks to an American boyfriend, so I play the US version (that definitely works).
When Wrath came out I had the same problem (no, can't buy the expansion here, and Blizz store said it couldn't ship to this address). I ended up ordering it off Play-Asia.com (yeah I know that sounds like some sort of scamming or gold farming enterprise but it's just a normal online shop for video games, focused on games from that region), but yeah, I didn't start playing until a week or two after Wrath launched.
Buying it in the US and mailing it should work fine, though (but again, she won't be able to start playing Cataclysm the very day it releases).
Aldarion Apr 26th 2010 5:28PM
Yes, you need the American version of WoW (enUS) with all the CDs/DVDs (everything is actually included on the Wrath disk so you only need to buy that one, and get the CD keys from the Blizz Store or wherever) to play on an American server wherever you are. Of course, lag will definitely be an issue here on the other side of the pond, but otherwise it's quite simple.
I dunno what the state of things is in Western Europe, but I haven't seen the enUS version anywhere around here... So... Get her a copy :-)
Kylenne Apr 26th 2010 1:43PM
Alex, don't worry, not all the ladies are left out. Some of us play for different teams. And I know perfectly het women whose brains shut down at the sight of Christina Hendricks. She's kind of the new Angelina Jolie. XD
But since you're striving to be fair and balanced (and it's appreciated), I humbly suggest a picture of Ian Somerhalder. I mean, for journalistic interest. *cough*
Dreyja Apr 26th 2010 8:50PM
I'd swoon over some well-placed Vigo Mortensen... I mean he's hot, smart, talented in multiple art forms, he's a good dad... /distracted by weaponized HOTNESS
Ohhh... Also Hugh Jackman is high on my list and does a LOT in the whole, shirtless category. Not to mention the ACCENT! /drool

But, again, PLEASE NO EMO TEENish twilight abominations, PLEASE!!!!

I know that there are RSS feeds for individual authors on wow.com. Are there feeds for individual columns (such as The Queue)?
Samutz Apr 26th 2010 2:06PM

Just add /rss.xml to the end of categories. Works with tags too.

Sweet, thanks!
originalzombieslayer888 Apr 26th 2010 1:44PM
So i went through all the comments before i decided to post this an i saw no one say ANYTHING about the LOPSIDEDNESS of her BEWBS! (Maybe i care to much....)
Listerofsmeg Apr 26th 2010 1:57PM
You may noticed that in the top picture where her boobs do look lopsided shes standing at an angle making one got lower. Still the hottest thing around tho.
Kylenne Apr 26th 2010 1:57PM
Stop watching porn, son. Most women's boobs are a little lopsided like that. It's how nature made us.
Silicone flotation devices are entirely different.
