The Queue: A rebuttal

Adam isn't the only one that can kick off The Queue with pictures of good-looking ladies from geeky TV shows. Behold: Christina Hendricks. You may recognize her from shows such as Firefly and Mad Men. I think I'll let the header image speak for itself and get right into the Q&A.
Pumabackup asked:
"I've been wondering about worgen and goblin death knights. How will they explain the story with them?"
My understanding is they won't. It's a case where they're not going to worry about the lore at all in the interest of maximizing fun. There probably shouldn't be any worgen death knights since they've all been locked away in Gilneas until after the events of Wrath of the Lich King, but it's just more fun if they can be death knights. It's like when they brought back Onyxia a few patches ago. There was no lore around it, she was never actually resurrected in the story, it was just for fun.
Jamie asked:
"Is there any way WoW.com can fund a breeding programme between Dawn Moore & Chris Belt to create the best WoW blogger?"
You frighten me. And I think Mr. Belt is already married with children, so you're out of luck.
JFetch asked:
"Why are there NPCs that sell higher level white weapons? These weapons seem useless since they have no stat bonuses, but cost large sums of gold. Who is buying these?"I'm pretty sure I've answered this before, but oh well. A few of my guild mates have bought them to level up weapon skills. The white weapons you can buy in Dalaran have very fast swing speeds. The Dalaran Great Axe is a two-handed axe with a 1.8 second swing speed. If you're a protection warrior/paladin and don't plan on ever actually getting a two-handed axe, you might as well use that for your skill ups.
It also just adds flavor to the game. Not everything you find on vendors is something you're going to take into a raid or use for character progression. The little things like that make a city feel more city-like. The random civvies living in Dalaran need weapons too, but they don't have the luxury of going out and killing boars all day long. Or ... you know, gods.
Grinton asked:
"I have met some RL friends that I want to play with, but they play on an EU Server. What would be the best way to go about switching?"
You're going to need to start over from scratch, unfortunately. You can't transfer characters from US to EU servers. You're going to need to go to WoW-Europe.com and repurchase the game and all of its expansions. Switching regions is not an easy task, but hopefully playing with friends will make it worthwhile.
That was our last question for today, but I want to jot down two notes for everybody reading: First, I'll have eye candy for the opposite gender on Wednesday. Ladies, don't feel left out. Second, my warrior is crit-immune, you jerks.

Given your knowledge of female anatomy, I'm going to take a wild guess and say that was the last time you were anywhere in the general vicinity of genuine ladyparts.

I figured that Worgen DKs will not be Gilnean but from the Wolfcult. Similarly Goblin DKs won't be Bilgewater but fallen Steamwheedle mercenaries. They break free of the Lich King and then decide to join their Gilnean and Bilgewater cousins in the Alliance and Horde.
On another note, Christina Hendricks seems to be a bit "more" than she was on Firefly.
Listerofsmeg Apr 26th 2010 2:36PM
I can only remember what she wears in "Our Mrs Reynolds" which was very baggy raggish clothes untill the end when Mal finds here and you can see in the fight scene she is very much booby and womanly.
Im not some freakish pervert btw I just watch firefly quite alot. :)
kinelfire Apr 26th 2010 1:54PM
@Sadrach When in the US I was fine to play on EU servers, so I expect the reverse is also true. Though she might need an "American" copy of Cataclysm. Might be best to download it from the Blizz US site on release?
As a not strictly straight woman, gosh Christina Hendricks is fantastically attractive, but I expect there to be mutliple photos of Johnny Depp or similar on wow.com quick smart, to redress the balance.

Well in the starting area for death knights there is a class trainer that happens to be a Lich. Once the death knights have been free'd from Arthas/Lich King the Lich(Amal thazad - I think is the name) stays behind with the death knights as a way of increasing their numbers. If they find a dead worgen or goblin he can easily bring about their resurrection as a new death knight.

Can you point me in the direction of any possible dailies that would be rewarding with an awesome looking mount or something of the like?
Samutz Apr 26th 2010 2:17PM
Argent Tournament in Icecrown for a few hippogryphs and variants of the main faction mounts. Also an Argent Charger for paladins.
Cenarion Expedition in Zangarmarsh and Borean Tundra (DEHTA) for another hippogryph.
Wyrmcrest Accord in Dragonblight for a red drake.
Sons of Hodir in Storm Peaks for some mammoths.
Netherwing in Shadowmoon Valley for netherwing drakes.
Sha'tari Skyguard in Terokkar Forest for nether rays.
I'm sure there's more but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Literaltruth Apr 26th 2010 2:42PM
If you're alliance then the Argent Tournament offers yet another variant of the hippogryph mount (although I believe it's pure white, which may be your thing). However, if you're horde then the faction-specific mount is an armoured Dragonhawk that is, IMO, one of the coolest mounts in the game. To get it you need to be Exalted with the Sunreavers (which you can get by doing the Argent Tournament dailies and also by doing random heroics with no tabard on since they are one of the Horde Expidition factions)>
You'd probably be as well working towards the Argent Champion achievement since the thing costs 150 champion seals - which are only available through heroic 5-man ToC and doing the dailies that are available at the Argent tournament - and are much more abundant after you've successfully championed each of your faction's races (although some of the quests that award these *are* available after successfully championing only your home city).
If you've not done the tournament at all, then it takes three days to be allowed to champion your own race and then five days to champion each race after that (you can only do one at a time)*.
If you get the Argent Champion title (which requires both championing each race AND being exalted with each race as well as the Argent Crusade) you get access to a vendor who sells loads of neat stuff - such as an addon to a pet you get as part of the tournament that allows you remote access to banks, vendors or mailbox on a 4hr CD, a different Hippgryph mount, a horse mount in Argent Crusade livery (as well as a separate Paladin Charger mount with Argent Crusade livery), heirloom weapons and armor etc. All these lovely things also cost Champion's Seals.
*in before a pedant points out you can do your first day of city dalies on the same day as your last day of "valiant" quests, so you can subtract one day from the total.
Fletcher Apr 26th 2010 3:24PM
Kurenai/Maghar for talbuks ...
Um ... if you farm Baron Rivendare for ages you may get his horse, but if you're Horde I wouldn't bother; it uses the undead warhorse model, so you can pretty much buy your own for 50g.
If you farm Attumen the Huntsman in Karazhan you may get *his* horse, which is much cooler. If you're not a warlock or a DK and want an evil blazing death horse, go for that one (or pray to the RNG gods for the Horseman's Reins during Hallow's End, but that's not likely).
A note about the Netherwing; they're grind from start to finish. Seriously. Those guys will make your brains dribble out your ears. It's worth it when you finally get your netherdrake ... but getting there will cause you physical pain.
Draelan Apr 26th 2010 6:18PM
@Fletcher
The Netherwing dailies are the most wonderful, fascinating things EVER compared to grinding out Wintersaber Trainer rep. At least they have more than 3 quests and they don't all involve "Go run halfway across the zone and kill 50 mobs for 8 drops, then run back and turn them in before you can collect more."

mount is awesome :)

As for the lore of goblins and worgen for death knights :
Goblins were always here, is just that they werent prominent enough to get noticed that "yeah , we have DKs too , you know." We have gnome DKs too you know , so no fuss here.
For worgen - its a bit tricky , while a Gilnean person as such could have easily became a Scourge DK and than revolt and join the Ebon Blade , it doesnt explain how he came into contact with the worgen curse.
Ofcourse , lets not forget that LK resurected Arugal as his servent and made many villages in Grizzly Hills affected by the Worgen curse . And so , some good ones may have died but were enough to be noticed and resurected as DKs -but if it was before Lights Hope events is hard to answer. Anyway , if this were the case than those afformated Worgen may have just joined the Gilneans as being "comrades in the curse" , about the way how humans decided wether they join the Alliance of the Horde - if they still resembled humans , than its alliance , if their state was too much affected by undeath than the answer is clear - For the Basnhee queen !
I hope this helps some RP-ers a bit :)

I salute you for posting images of a woman who's shaped like a WOMAN.

With the Lich King dead and his plots foiled, what will happen to the Death Knight starting area? I don't know if Blizzard has answered this question, but if they haven't, conjecture would still be appreciated. I'm not creative enough to come up with my own ideas about these things.
Samutz Apr 26th 2010 2:24PM
Nothing probably. The introduction quests for Death Knights take place in their own map/instance that's not reachable by any one else. Just as it is now, you'll be playing through how the DKs left the scourge and formed the Ebon Blade, continuing on to Outland's events, then Northrend's, then you'll finally be caught up to Cataclysm.
As far as any new DK is concerned, the Lick King will still be alive until they start leveling in Cataclysm's new zones.
Grube Apr 26th 2010 2:17PM
My thought on the first question:
At some point I suspect we will be told that anyone who dies can become a deathknight by the powers of the ebon blade. Either that, or the the fact that the scourge and the "lich king" still exist.
