Here is a question for the Queue:
I recently ding'd lvl 80 on my mage (Jasonplv, human, Kirin Tor realm in case anyone wants to send me congratulatory gifts and gold) and picked up Mirror Image.
My question is do the spells the mirror images cast draw from my mana, and what spell exactly are they casting?
Last night, I popped MI against Ingvar the Plunderer in Utgarde Keep. After I cast it, I started shooting Arcane Missles, but the images were casting something else.

They have their own mana pool, casting frostbolt and fire blast.

Aside from the initial mana used to summon them, they will not use any of your mana. Once summoned, they will chain cast Frostbolt, weaving in the occassional Fire Blast.

Your Mirror Images pick up your Buffs but they will only shoot frost bolts.
A good trick it to pop Arcane Power and what ever other talents and trinkets you have and then Mirror Image. Combine this with a Water Element in PvP and you get instant death.

Just curious - if you're not specced for frost - does the mirror image do less damage or conversely more damage if you're specced frost? Or is it more of a choice in how the spell looks?
I don't play a mage so am just wondering.

I would assume that the MI's would have the same casting power as the actual mage, and that would depend on the talent build used.
