The Queue: Your turn

There you go, ladies. I told you I wouldn't leave you out. Enjoy your Clooney, the classiest man in the world. And you thought I was going to inflict the Twilight boys on you again. Bah. Bah, I say.
wulfishmojo asked:
"When the Cataclysm beta hits, will the Ask a Beta Tester feature return or will The Queue field all of our beta questions?"
We haven't completely decided yet. It's probably going to depend on how many pre-Cataclysm questions we still get when the beta rolls around. Can we justify running both? Do we have enough content for both? If the answer to those questions is yes, we'll do both. However, while trying to write The Queue it is becoming increasingly obvious that the community at large is pretty burned out on the current game. So we'll see what happens, no decision has been made yet.
nicholasnonno asked:
"Has the actual size of Azeroth ever been figured out? Officially or unofficially?"
People have tried to calculate the size of Azeroth as it's represented in WoW, but WoW doesn't represent the actual size of Azeroth. The game world is pretty condensed. All of the fluff and extra space in between landmarks has been yanked out. There are no residential areas and things of that sort. As it is represented in WoW, it's been calculated that the world is about 12km across, which is small. Really small.
Raziel783 asked:
"Do you think we will ever see a legendary that does not require 25-man raiding?"
If there were ever a time that this would happen, it's Cataclysm. With the Cataclysm raid changes bringing 10 and 25-man raiding even closer together, there's less and less justification for keeping legendaries in only 25-mans. It's possible that they'll keep it 25-man exclusive to reward those raids for the greater logistical effort involved, but that seems very odd if they're trying to remove gear as a consideration when choosing your raid.
Rantark asked:
"Weren't the press beta invites sent out? Why haven't we heard anything else since then?"
They did not send out press beta invitations. They sent out press beta invitation invitations. The press is being invited to accept the opportunity to get a beta key some time in the future.
Pretty sweet, I know.

As a female, I would be fine with either of them over Mr. Clooney.
That's probably an understatement, somehow.

Question time!
Since flying mounts are now in Azeroth, obviously all those empty spots are going to have to be filled in.
But even taking into account the new added zones like Hyjal, Uldum, Gilneas, and the Twilight Highlands, there's still a ton of empty space between zones.
Is there any info on whether Blizzard just going to fill these spots with vast generic mountain ranges? Or are they going to be stretching zone lines to make them fit more neatly with one another? Or what?
After all, nearly 30% of the map is just empty mountain ranges...

Well when they announced cataclysm they said they had it planned before Lick King, so they'd been working on it for a long time, and must have already decided to do something with those areas
Considering that now we would be able to fly there, maybe some of those zone will have high end content, as to keep the 85 away from ganking lowbies :P
Or maybe they will stay as mountains, to give as clear zones to farm mats, who knows

I love it every time I see Lick King.... :D
Samutz Apr 28th 2010 2:13PM
I imagine they'll be generic mountain ranges. Blizzard isn't going to fill every single corner of the land with mobs and quests. Plus they're probably going to want to leave some areas available for future content.
Anyway, that map is most likely a rough draft, drawn by hand (or mspaint it looks like). When the beta is in progress we'll likely see a more detailed map.

They never said that players would be able to fly over the entire world. There could still be invisible walls, or mountains that are too tall to fly over. For example, I am almost 100% sure that you will not be able to fly over deep water ("fatigue" water).

Clooney is good, but too classic
I'll vote for Robert Downey Jr as in Iron Man :P
Or for Hugh Jackman :P as in any xmen movie

I got 2 questions.
1) What happened to daily blues? I liked that column.
2) Cenarius got "killed" (Although his spirit may still live) in Ashenvale Forest, is there a landmark or known spot where it actually happened? Or is the exact location a mystery.
Samutz Apr 28th 2010 2:27PM
1. Maybe there hasn't been any interesting blue posts other than the raid changes that got their own article.
2. I took a quick look at the original WC3 campaign in which he dies and didn't see anything that hints a anything more specific than "Ashenvale". It's possible that the Warsong Orcs still hold the land where he was slain. Also, maybe because the night elves know his spirit still lives in the Emerald Dream, they don't consider him dead and felt no need to create a monument just yet.

Does anyone know of a website, rss feed, etc, that shows what today's daily quests are? (Are they different per server?) I'd like to know BEFORE logging in so I can plan my time before I get home.. ie do I need to organize a daily heroic dungeon with the guild, or are we just doing farming dailies.
SpaceGoatPriest Apr 28th 2010 2:56PM
If I recall there was a site that was trying to do that, but it relied on user input. There is no direct API ("interface") to the servers to see what they are. So a user would just have to tell the site what it was (and they could just be a jerk and say the wrong one to mess with people). Each server has different dailies/weeklys, so that adds to the pain of trying to keep up with.
Since they removed the daily BG/dungeon, there are not that many dailies left that cycle.

Outland dungeons (Are they still there? not 100% on this)
I know i am missing some others, but can't think of any more.

Yes the outland daily dungeon quests still exist. Good for rep farming 80s who can solo them.
So much to do, not enough time!

Samutz Apr 28th 2010 2:41PM
I haven't read it myself yet, but WoW: The Comic is supposed to cover Varian's story.

Honestly? Either you're terribly biased or ignorant as George Clooney has not lived up to any reasonable definition of classy.
Gamer am I Apr 28th 2010 1:46PM
Really? Clooney? Such a trite choice. Zach Galifianakis is so much hotter... I mean, what?
G01851 Apr 28th 2010 1:56PM
