The Queue: Your turn

There you go, ladies. I told you I wouldn't leave you out. Enjoy your Clooney, the classiest man in the world. And you thought I was going to inflict the Twilight boys on you again. Bah. Bah, I say.
wulfishmojo asked:
"When the Cataclysm beta hits, will the Ask a Beta Tester feature return or will The Queue field all of our beta questions?"
We haven't completely decided yet. It's probably going to depend on how many pre-Cataclysm questions we still get when the beta rolls around. Can we justify running both? Do we have enough content for both? If the answer to those questions is yes, we'll do both. However, while trying to write The Queue it is becoming increasingly obvious that the community at large is pretty burned out on the current game. So we'll see what happens, no decision has been made yet.
nicholasnonno asked:
"Has the actual size of Azeroth ever been figured out? Officially or unofficially?"
People have tried to calculate the size of Azeroth as it's represented in WoW, but WoW doesn't represent the actual size of Azeroth. The game world is pretty condensed. All of the fluff and extra space in between landmarks has been yanked out. There are no residential areas and things of that sort. As it is represented in WoW, it's been calculated that the world is about 12km across, which is small. Really small.
Raziel783 asked:
"Do you think we will ever see a legendary that does not require 25-man raiding?"
If there were ever a time that this would happen, it's Cataclysm. With the Cataclysm raid changes bringing 10 and 25-man raiding even closer together, there's less and less justification for keeping legendaries in only 25-mans. It's possible that they'll keep it 25-man exclusive to reward those raids for the greater logistical effort involved, but that seems very odd if they're trying to remove gear as a consideration when choosing your raid.
Rantark asked:
"Weren't the press beta invites sent out? Why haven't we heard anything else since then?"
They did not send out press beta invitations. They sent out press beta invitation invitations. The press is being invited to accept the opportunity to get a beta key some time in the future.
Pretty sweet, I know.

In so far as the Legendary's go...well...its up to Blizzard how they want to proceed with that. They may decided to
1) keep completely equal loot tables in Cata Raids giving everyone a shot at a nice Orange item (or the component parts for such an item).
or
2) keep Legendary items/components exclusive to 25man raids as an extra insentive.
or
3) Scale back the raiding necessity of completing a legendary.
Option 1 would be used if they want to completely mitigate the practical difference between 10 and 25man raids and loot tables. Although they might mitigate the idea of "loloranges" with either making items/components REALLY ULTRA SUPER RARE, or just have them drop off of hardmodes or from special limited-attempt bosses (ex. Algalon)
Option 2 would be taken if they still want to reward people for being a bigger part of something and to compensate for the extra logistical difficulties in forming and running a raid. Although I find this unlikely since 10 and 25man difficulty will be equalized which would make ledgendaries far easier to get overall.
Option 3 would be taken if they want to make Ledgendaries something more than just a great raiding reward. They may do something more akin to Ateish or Shadow's Edge where you had to raid for part of it, but there were also outside quests you had to do (Defeating Atiesh Hand of Sargeras, and reclaiming Light's Vengence for example). For a Cataclysm legendary they may require components gained/used from major raids and 5mans. Assembled components taken though a successful Battleground. And maybe a major lore rich quest chain involving major players and places.
I just hope that whatever they do for legendaries they get rid of the "RNG GRIND." Griding for a

let me try this one more time...
Griding for a less than 1% drop, or for component mats are madding. With forming Shadow's Edge they got rid of a large portion of RNG grinding. They introduced a bit of it to upgrade Shadow's Edge to Shadowmourne, but the drop rate is moderate to high with the only real barrier being the amount of Shadowfrost shards you need.
It seems like they're moving away from RNG based Legendaries and are making it more time and effort based.

Will there ever be a tanking legendary?

Why are the Shaman totem quests so maddeningly tedious? Not to mention that some are a bit difficult. You're sending me into a group of level 26 monsters at level 20 to get water? Rly?

As I don't participate in Arenas, a thought occurred to me that left me wondering: Does "Rated Battlegrounds" mean we'll still join them randomly like we do WG today or will it be set "teams" like Arenas are today? I think it means the latter, but that means PvP will stop being a regular event for a number of people I know. We don't PvP like that. We have fun, and we know what we're doing, but we're not that into being so coordinated. Does it mean there will be unrated battlegrounds for the rest of us or are my battleground days coming to an end? Thanks for the insight that I am sure will follow. :)

Why can't mounted trolls fit through the top elevator door to the UC? WHY????
Alex Ziebart Apr 29th 2010 12:47AM
Because they're tall. There is no other answer to this but the horribly obvious one.

Question:
with the changes of badges to different types of points, will our current badges be converted to points or will this only effect new content? What happens to my current badges?
Samutz Apr 29th 2010 11:28AM
I doubt there will be any changes to our current emblems, just like the badge system in Outland hasn't changed. It won't be worth Blizzard's effort to change the system that will go mostly unused in Cataclysm.
katyanna Apr 29th 2010 3:30AM
other races are just as tall going through.

"Women tend to go for not just the looks but someone who excites us as a person and we think would make a good relationship, not just a one night stand - whether that's the provider or the bad boy we can "rehabilitate." Clooney is forever stuck in the good looking but man's man role."
I am completely in AWE of womens ability to know all this from a single Photograph!

"This has been an interesting social experiment, actually.
Show us males a picture of a hot chick and brains instantly shut down to murmur, "Boobies!"
Show the females a picture of a hot guy and they debate over whether or not there might have been a better choice."
Just shows one thing to me....women cant agree and MUST chat about everything. Men see something and focus on it. Women look around for something better - even if what they have on offer is WAY WAY better than what they already have.
