10 mans do not feel less epic to me because of the scaling. If anything, it enhances the experience. It makes me feel very small in the presence of my purple-hoarding foes, so defeating them in 10 man makes it feel so much more epic!

Also, maybe the bosses just like big rooms and hallways? I'm sure because they are evil they can afford the floor space. More is always better! Just kidding.
